Is the 2025 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Toyota Tacoma earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out because it combines the Tacoma nameplate’s long-standing reputation for durability with a thoroughly modern redesign, including a new frame, a remade interior, and new engines. For Canadian buyers, it also brings a standard Double Cab layout, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a broad set of standard safety features, making it appealing if you want a rugged midsize truck with more modern tech and refinement. 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2025 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to the Tacoma’s long-standing reputation for durability, and this model year continues that theme with a thoroughly updated platform and modernised hardware. It also keeps the rugged identity that has helped the nameplate earn trust over time, while adding a new frame and updated engineering. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying a premium for a truck that remains expensive even as it ages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Tacoma?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 342 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $57,771 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $57,786 CAD sits slightly below last year's $70,223 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you own one for a few years, the Tacoma’s strong reputation and broad appeal should help support demand. The current pricing also leaves room for future depreciation to normalise rather than fall sharply from an inflated starting point.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $53,571 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $57,786 CAD average.
• It launched the fourth generation with a major redesign and a more modern starting point.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the newer, more refined Tacoma with stronger tech and a modernised feel. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value path, especially if you can live with its earlier-generation pricing advantage.
