Is the 2025 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

The 2025 Subaru Crosstrek is a simple, practical small crossover that leans on Subaru’s familiar formula rather than chasing complexity. It is appealing as a budget-friendly daily driver with real utility, especially if you value traction and versatility over flash.

Its standard all-wheel drive, generous ground clearance, protective bodywork, and pedestal-style roof rails give it a distinctly outdoorsy character. The model also adds useful everyday tech and safety equipment, which strengthens its case for buyers who want a compact vehicle that can handle commuting, winter driving, and light adventure use.

With 30.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market offers a decent number of value opportunities.

Is the 2025 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

The 2025 Subaru Crosstrek’s straightforward design helps keep it approachable, and that simplicity is part of its appeal. It uses familiar mechanicals and focuses on practical capability rather than complexity.

That said, the base-engine versions are not especially quick, and the CVT can bring plenty of noise and transmission droning. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best thought of as moderate: you are buying a practical vehicle, but one that still deserves a careful inspection and a full service history review.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Crosstrek?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 711 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,695 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $33,800 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,001 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale may be shaped by a market that has already eased. If prices stay near today’s level, a well-kept Crosstrek should remain reasonably competitive, though not immune to broader used-market swings.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that strong condition and good documentation will matter. A clean, well-maintained example should be easier to position than one with visible wear or incomplete records.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.43% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $30,248 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $33,800 CAD average.
• It offers a refreshed package with standard all-wheel drive and useful feature upgrades.

The 2025 is the better pick if you want the newer model-year pricing context and are comfortable shopping the current market for a fair deal. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2024 is the more price-sensitive path and still gives you the Crosstrek’s core strengths.
