CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Kia Carnival
Summary
With 206 currently listed for sale and an average price of $41,935 CAD, 28.2% of 2025 Kia Carnival listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Kia Carnival 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Kia Carnival stands out because it brings minivan practicality in a package that looks far more aggressive, angular, and modern than most rivals. Kia’s design approach gives it a distinctly SUV-like presence, and that styling is paired with the kind of space families actually use: the Carnival’s long, boxy shape helps with cargo capacity and passenger comfort, especially for adults in the third row. It also has a low step-in height and relatively light curb weight, which make it easier to live with than many truck-based SUVs.
Mechanically, the 2025 Kia Carnival offers a 3.5-litre V6 with 287 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission with multiple driving modes. For 2025, Kia also added a gas-electric powertrain with a 1.6-litre turbo inline-four and small electric motor producing 242 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. That hybrid brings much better fuel efficiency, with Natural Resources Canada ratings of 6.9 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 7.6 on the highway, and 7.2 combined, compared with the V6 model’s 12.9 city, 8.8 highway, and 11.1 combined. The Carnival Hybrid is also notable for not feeling like a typical hybrid, thanks to its turbocharger and six-speed transmission.
Inside, the Carnival’s appeal comes from its broad range of comfort and convenience features, including available reclining “VIP Lounge” second-row seats with heating, cooling, extended recline, and power leg rests. The cabin also offers a strong mix of technology and driver assistance equipment, and the 2025 refresh brought a redesigned dashboard with updated infotainment screens. On the downside, the cabin and engine can be louder than those of competitors, the hybrid system is not as smooth at low speeds as the Toyota Sienna, and the Carnival still lacks all-wheel drive. Even so, its combination of space, style, and family-friendly features makes it a compelling choice for buyers who want a modern minivan with a more distinctive personality.

Reviewed a 2025 Kia EX FWD on Aug 22, 2024
I recently purchased the 2025 Kia Carnival EX, and overall, Im very impressed. The engines power is definitely one of the highlights—it delivers strong, confident acceleration. The driving assistance technology is top-notch, providing a sense of security on the road, and the cabins quietness adds to the overall comfort, making it a pleasant environment for both driver and passengers. However, coming from a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica, I do miss the armrests on the front and middle row seats. They were a small but appreciated feature that added to the comfort, especially on longer drives. Despite this, the Carnival EX is proving to be a great choice with its modern features and smooth ride.

How much does the 2025 Kia Carnival cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $41,854 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $41,854 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $52,224 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $50,626 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −17.33% |
Prices have softened 17.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 203 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2025 Kia Carnival a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Kia Carnival earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out for bringing minivan practicality in a package that looks more aggressive, angular, and modern than most rivals, while still giving you the space families actually use. Its long, boxy shape helps with cargo capacity and passenger comfort, especially for adults in the third row, and the low step-in height makes daily use easier. With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2025 Kia Carnival reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Kia Carnival’s appeal comes from its family-friendly packaging, broad range of comfort and convenience features, and a strong mix of technology and driver assistance equipment. It also offers a low step-in height and relatively light curb weight, which can make it easier to live with than many truck-based SUVs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you should pay close attention to cabin noise, drivetrain smoothness, and whether the features you want are working as expected.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia Carnival?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 203 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.33% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $41,854 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Kia Carnival's resale value?
The current average of $41,854 CAD sits slightly below last year's $50,626 CAD.
That price movement suggests the Carnival has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more competition if the market stays soft. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the earlier average. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2025 Kia Carnival or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.33% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $37,177 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $41,854 CAD average.
- It offers strong driving dynamics and good value.
