CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Jeep Wrangler
overall

Summary
With 714 currently listed for sale and an average price of $53,264 CAD, 30.5% of 2025 Jeep Wrangler listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 5.33 / 10.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler stands out because it stays true to its rugged, old-school character while still evolving enough to remain relevant. It offers iconic looks and legendary off-road ability, and it is available with two-door or four-door body styles, two engines, and six trim levels. For 2025, all models have standard power windows and door locks, the V6/automatic drivetrain returns to the lineup, and new colours include ’41 and Mojito.
That same focus on adventure is what makes the Wrangler appealing to buyers who want something more specialised than a typical SUV. The top comes off, the doors come off, and there are drain holes in the floor so it can be hosed out after a dirty outing. It is fun to drive and impressively capable off-road, but it is also noisy, rides poorly, and can be unpleasant as a daily driver, so its appeal is strongest for shoppers who value character and capability over refinement and value.

As a previous owner of a CJ7, and later a 1999 Wrangler, the 2025 Wrangler is very different. The clutch is feather light compared to any standard transmission I’ve ever driven. I love the ability to integrate my phone etc.. the Alpine stereo sounds good. The removable T top model sounds tight going down the road… Very little noise. The steering is easy yet responsive. The seats are comfortable and fit well even though I’m only 5’2” and my husband 6’1”. I wish the clutch were a bit more firm. But I’m sure I will get used to it and even prefer it overtime.

Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler a good car?
Generally — the 2025 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4/5 user rating and a 5.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance and Technology.
It stays true to its rugged, old-school character while still offering two-door and four-door body styles, two engines, and six trim levels. That makes it a strong fit if you want iconic looks and serious off-road ability more than everyday polish.
The trade-offs are clear: it is noisy, rides poorly, and can feel unpleasant as a daily driver. It also asks you to accept a more specialised, adventure-first package rather than a broadly refined SUV.
With 29.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler reliable?
Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Wrangler’s rugged design and adventure-focused hardware suggest a vehicle built for hard use, but its rough-and-ready character also means you should expect compromises in refinement. The expert assessment points to a model that is continually evolving, yet still very much defined by its old-school approach.
Its performance hardware is straightforward, with a choice of a 3.6-litre V6 or a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder, and the turbo engine is described as a fine powerplant aside from its nasal idle note and loud cooling fan. That kind of mechanical simplicity can be appealing, but used buyers should still pay close attention to how the vehicle has been maintained and whether its off-road life has left any wear behind.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base Sport is the most stripped-back version, while the Sport S adds more everyday convenience and the higher trims bring more equipment. The Wrangler’s appeal is strongest if you value its removable top and doors, but the base trim leaves out some of the features many buyers will want.
- Powertrain: You can choose a 3.6-litre V6 with a six-speed manual or a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic. The turbo engine is marginally more fuel-efficient and may feel livelier at higher elevations.
- Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on any Wrangler except the base Sport trim. Forward collision warning with automatic braking requires the Sahara, and adaptive cruise control is also available on higher-spec models with an automatic transmission.
- Infotainment: The Uconnect 5 system includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio preparation. More expensive models can add navigation and Jeep Connect connected services.
- Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged four-cylinder is rated at 11.0 L/100 km combined, or 11.3 L/100 km combined in the four-door model, versus 12.2 L/100 km combined for the V6, or 12.6 L/100 km combined in the four-door model.
Which 2025 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 6 trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, and Rubicon X.
Here's the short version:
- Sport: This is the entry point, but it is the most basic version and leaves you with the fewest convenience and safety extras. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting point and plan to keep the build simple.
- Sport S: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday usability while still keeping the Wrangler’s core character intact. It is the trim that best balances price and equipment if you want the Wrangler experience without going too far up the range.
- Willys: This trim is for buyers who want a more distinctive, adventure-leaning setup without jumping straight to the pricier off-road-focused models. It suits you if style and capability matter more than luxury.
- Sahara: This is the trim to target if you want the most important safety upgrade, because forward collision warning with automatic braking requires it. It is the smarter choice if you want a more road-friendly Wrangler with added driver assistance.
- Rubicon: Choose this if off-road capability is your priority, since the Wrangler’s reputation is built around this kind of hardware and use case. It is the trim for buyers who want the most serious trail focus.
- Rubicon X: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most equipped Wrangler experience. It suits you if you want the most premium version of the model’s rugged formula.
The safety-package note is simple: blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on every trim except the base Sport, while forward collision warning with automatic braking requires the Sahara.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 713 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.86% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $53,154 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?
The current average of $53,154 CAD sits slightly below last year's $59,631 CAD.
That price movement suggests the Wrangler has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help support demand in the near term. For a future seller, it also means you may need to be realistic about pricing if you want to move the vehicle quickly.
The Wrangler’s strong identity, off-road reputation, and loyal following should help it remain desirable. Even so, its resale strength will depend on condition, trim, and how well it has been cared for, especially given its specialised nature.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler safe?
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.
It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.
The Wrangler’s safety equipment includes standard side curtain airbags for the front and rear seats, plus available blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and forward collision warning with automatic braking on the Sahara. The Sport trim misses out on blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the base model also lacks some of the more advanced driver-assistance features available higher up the range.
There is also a notable caveat in the crash-test results: the small overlap frontal-impact test produced a Marginal rating.
Should I buy a 2025 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.86% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It keeps the Wrangler’s iconic looks and legendary off-road ability while adding standard power windows and door locks.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $44,900 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $53,154 CAD average.
- It brings a mid-cycle refresh focused on technology, safety, and refinement.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It adds an enhanced hinge system that makes the doors easier to remove.
The bottom line: If you want the current-year Wrangler with strong market availability and softer pricing, the 2025 is the primary pick. If your priority is lower purchase price, the 2024 is the better value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the door-removal improvement and can wait.
