Is the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L a good car?

The 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L stands out by combining three-row practicality with the sort of off-road capability Jeep is known for. It is a larger midsize variant with third-row seats, and it sits between the standard Grand Cherokee and the full-size Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Compared with other midsize three-row SUVs, it is notable for its off-road abilities, strong towing capacity, and an interior that is both spacious and luxuriously refined.

For Canadian buyers, standard four-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a base Laredo trim with three-zone climate control, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a solid list of driver-assistance features make it a practical family option. Higher trims add more comfort and luxury, including leather, heated and ventilated seats, a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a power-folding third row, and premium audio.

The market shows 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L reliable?

The 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L remains a roomy choice, with seating for six adults and available second-row bench seating that raises capacity to seven. Canadian buyers get standard four-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a base Laredo trim that includes three-zone climate control, an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a solid list of driver-assistance features.

There are trade-offs, though. The V6 engine lacks punch, and the Grand Cherokee L is pricey for the class. Fuel economy is also a weak point for the V8, which is rated at 14.1 L/100 km in combined driving, while the V6 is estimated at 11.3 L/100 km.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about running costs and value retention than about the vehicle’s core usefulness.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 251 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $60,098 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L's resale value?

The current average of $60,098 CAD sits slightly below last year's $72,133 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy with less risk of overpaying. If you plan to sell later, the current softness may limit short-term upside, but a well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers who want three-row space, towing ability, and a more upscale feel.

Should I buy a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.68% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the latest pricing context and a broad pool of listings to compare. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025 gives you a strong starting point for shopping and negotiating.
