That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale values may face some pressure if the market stays competitive. For a seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price carefully to stand out. Well-equipped examples with desirable features should still attract attention because the model’s value proposition remains strong.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $22,416 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $24,243 CAD average.
• The 2024 is sporty, well-constructed, and more entertaining to drive.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the latest version with strong room, refinement, and a broad mix of trims and powertrains. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value path and still gives you a well-rounded compact sedan with plenty of appeal.
