Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Ridgeline earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Honda’s approach is different from most midsize pickups: it uses unibody construction, standard all-wheel drive, and clever storage solutions to make the truck easier to live with day to day. That makes it a strong fit if you want a practical, comfortable pickup that feels more like a daily driver than a traditional work truck.

The trade-offs are clear, though. It does not offer the towing capacity or off-road capability of more traditional trucks, and its technology is described as outdated.

With 15.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Ridgeline’s unibody construction, comfortable ride, and good handling point to a truck that is built to be easy to live with over time. Its V6 and nine-speed automatic are described as an excellent combination, and the truck’s overall refinement supports the impression of solid everyday dependability.

Honda’s warranty coverage is straightforward, and the model’s practical design and durable-feeling cabin should appeal if you want a truck that is less demanding to own than many rivals.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its limited towing and off-road ability may not match how you plan to use it.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Ridgeline?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport, TrailSport, and Black Edition each bring different equipment levels, with the base trim missing some features found higher up.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-litre V6 with 280 horsepower, a nine-speed automatic, and standard AWD; the truck is tuned more for smooth road use than hard-core trail work.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Road Departure Mitigation.
• Infotainment: All models have a 9-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; navigation is standard on the Black Edition, and the base Sport does not get SiriusXM.
• Fuel efficiency: Most models are rated at 11.5 L/100 km combined, while TrailSport models are slightly less efficient at 11.6 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, TrailSport, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Ridgeline’s core strengths: standard AWD, the V6, the 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the practical cabin layout. It is the value play if you want the Ridgeline’s everyday usability without paying for extras you may not need.
• TrailSport: This is the best-value trim if you want the Ridgeline’s more adventurous look and the added hardware that comes with it. It adds all-terrain tyres, unique suspension tuning, and a front skid plate, making it the trim to choose if you want the most distinctive version.
• Black Edition: This is the top trim, and it adds navigation, an eight-speaker audio system, and rear USB-C ports, along with the most upscale presentation in the lineup. Choose it if you want the most features and the most polished cabin.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 15.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 86 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.44% compared with last year.

What is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $51,402 CAD sits slightly below last year's $57,397 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If prices stay near current levels, resale values should remain reasonable rather than strong.

The Ridgeline’s practical appeal and broad usability should help it hold interest with shoppers who want comfort and convenience over traditional truck toughness.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline safe?

The 2025 Honda Ridgeline earns five-star ratings from NHTSA in frontal and side crash tests, and four stars in rollover testing. It also earns a top “Good” score in the updated IIHS side crash test, along with a “Good” score in the original moderate front overlap test and an “Acceptable” score in the small overlap front test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Road Departure Mitigation.

One caveat is that the headlights received a “Marginal” rating, and the lack of a 360-degree camera system is a notable omission.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 15.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the 2024 updates while keeping the Ridgeline’s practical, easy-to-live-with formula.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $47,770 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $51,402 CAD average.
• It adds a new TrailSport trim and modernised interior touches.

The bottom line: If you want the most current version of the Ridgeline’s practical, comfortable formula, the 2025 is the safer default. If your priority is saving money and you still want the same basic strengths, the 2024 is the better value-oriented path.
