Is the 2025 Honda HR-V a good car?

The 2025 Honda HR-V stands out as a practical, easy-to-live-with crossover that leans more on versatility and refinement than outright performance. For you, that means a compact SUV that is manageable in daily driving, with a good ride and the convenience of available all-wheel drive.

Its cabin and cargo flexibility are major selling points, with 691 litres of cargo space in the trunk and 1,559 litres with the rear seats folded. You also get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across the range, plus standard Honda Sensing safety features and 10 airbags.

If you want a compact SUV that prioritises practicality, standard safety equipment, and a well-rounded driving experience over speed, this one fits that brief. 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Honda HR-V reliable?

The 2025 Honda HR-V is presented as a practical crossover with a higher-quality interior, improved handling, and a good ride, which supports its reputation as an easy vehicle to live with. Its standard safety equipment and straightforward design also make it appealing if you want something uncomplicated.

The trade-off is that the 2.0-litre engine makes 158 horsepower and is described as less powerful than some competitors, so it can feel strained when you push it harder. For long-term ownership, that means your main risk is not complexity so much as living with modest performance if you regularly carry passengers or drive at higher speeds.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 313 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,999 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $31,999 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,833 CAD.

That price movement suggests the HR-V has softened enough to improve your buying position today. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim, since the market has already moved down from last year’s level.

For a future seller, the current trend means you may not see the same peak pricing that was available a year ago. The upside is that the model’s practicality and broad appeal can still help it hold interest with used buyers.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.70% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $35,199 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $31,999 CAD average.
• It adds a larger touchscreen with faster response times.

The 2025 is the better primary choice if you want the stronger value proposition and more room to negotiate. If you are price-sensitive, the 2025 makes more sense than paying extra for the 2026’s refresh.
