Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL stands out as a full-size SUV built around space, flexibility, and a distinctly truck-like character. Its long-wheelbase design adds more than 30 centimetres between the front and rear axles, which gives you extra room for third-row passengers and a great deal more cargo space behind them. It also offers three powertrain choices, all paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, so you can choose the setup that best fits your needs.

For 2025, it also gained notable updates, including a larger 16.8-inch infotainment system with Google Built-In, available Night Vision, and a new AT4 Ultimate trim. Those changes help keep it competitive if you want a large SUV with serious passenger and luggage capacity plus a more upscale cabin and modern technology. 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL is presented as a full-size SUV built around space, flexibility, and a distinctly truck-like character. It offers three powertrain choices and a broad trim range, which gives you flexibility when you’re choosing a used example.

Its strengths are clear in the way it combines genuine large-SUV utility with available luxury features, while its drawbacks are the expected ones for a vehicle this size. For long-term ownership, you should plan for the realities of a large, heavy SUV and make sure any used example has been maintained carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 54 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.94% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $94,507 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $94,507 CAD sits slightly below last year's $111,101 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Yukon XL more approachable for you as a used buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value may be under some pressure unless the vehicle is especially well equipped, well maintained, and priced competitively. If you buy carefully now, you may be entering at a more favourable point than someone who purchased closer to last year's average.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.94% compared with last year.

The bottom line:

If you want the most up-to-date version of the Yukon XL’s large-SUV formula, the 2025 is the one to target because it brings the latest updates and still offers strong utility. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may give you similar space and capability for less money, so it’s worth comparing carefully before you commit.
