How much does the 2025 GMC Canyon cost?

Is the 2025 GMC Canyon a good car?

The 2025 GMC Canyon stands out as a midsize pickup that leans more upscale and more capable than many shoppers might expect from its size. It gives you a distinctive design, a generous standard equipment list, and a strong powertrain, while still being smaller and easier to manoeuvre than a full-size truck.

If you want a truck that feels premium, offers serious off-road hardware, and still works well as a daily driver, the Canyon fits that brief well. Its market position is also supported by 32.2% of listings being priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 GMC Canyon reliable?

The 2025 GMC Canyon is presented as a well-equipped midsize pickup with a strong standard powertrain and a straightforward Canadian setup. It uses a turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which gives you a robust mechanical foundation.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the truck’s premium positioning and capability focus can make repairs and upkeep more expensive than you might expect from a midsize pickup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Canyon?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 174 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.55% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,994 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $53,994 CAD sits slightly below last year's $58,401 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Canyon has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition if the market stays well supplied. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The strongest resale prospects will likely come from well-equipped examples that are priced near the lower end of the current range.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.55% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,324 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $53,994 CAD average.
• It adds a tougher off-road package and strong standard equipment.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds fresh styling touches and more off-road flexibility.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the best all-around choice if you want the current market balance of price, inventory, and capability. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter value play, especially if you want to spend less while still getting a highly capable Canyon.
