CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Ford Ranger
Summary
With 111 currently listed for sale and an average price of $54,662 CAD, 31.5% of 2025 Ford Ranger listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Ford Ranger 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Ford Ranger stands out as a thoroughly modern midsize pickup that leans into capability, technology, and a more upscale feel than the old-school Rangers of the past. It uses a redesigned cabin and a much more modern infotainment setup, with a standard 10.1-inch screen running Ford’s latest Sync 4 system and an optional 12.4-inch portrait-style display. Ford also makes a broad suite of driver-assistance features available, including automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, trailer tow monitoring, and lane-keeping assist, with Co-Pilot 360 available even on the base XL trim and standard on XLT and higher models. The truck’s body is a bit longer in wheelbase, its suspension has been redesigned for better ride quality and off-road wheel travel, and it now comes only as a full four-door crew cab.
Mechanically, the 2025 Ford Ranger offers a strong spread of turbocharged powertrains. The base model keeps the 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 270 horsepower, while most versions use a 2.7-litre turbocharged V6 with 315 horsepower. For buyers who want the most extreme off-road performance, the Ranger Raptor brings a 3.0-litre V6 with 405 horsepower, which is described as the highest output in the midsize truck segment. That combination of power, updated hardware, and a more refined interior makes the Ranger appealing to shoppers who want a truck that feels far more contemporary than the classic Ranger formula, even if it is also more complex than the simpler trucks that came before it.

Is the 2025 Ford Ranger a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Ford Ranger is a good car if you want a midsize pickup that feels more modern without losing its work-truck roots. It earns a 5/5 user rating, and the truck’s redesigned cabin, standard 10.1-inch Sync 4 infotainment system, available 12.4-inch portrait-style screen, and broad safety package give it a much more contemporary feel than older Rangers. It also suits you if you want a capable, tech-rich pickup with a refined driving experience and available four-door practicality. 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2025 Ford Ranger reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Ford Ranger’s appeal comes from its more sophisticated design, redesigned suspension, and updated cabin rather than from any old-school simplicity. That means you get a more advanced truck with stronger everyday refinement, but also one that may be more complex than earlier Rangers. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is tied more to that added complexity than to the truck’s basic capability.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Ranger?
The market looks moderate, so you can be selective rather than rushed.
- Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 120 listings available.
Should I buy a 2025 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2024 if:
- It offers more power, technology, refinement, space, and choice.
The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the more polished, better-equipped Ranger with strong shopper appeal. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 is worth a look because it delivers much of the same broad capability and added choice while potentially opening up a lower-cost path into the model.
