Used 2025 Ford Explorer for Sale nearKelowna, BC

How much does the 2025 Ford Explorer cost?

Prices have softened 13.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 345 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Ford Explorer a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Ford Explorer earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for used buyers. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful V6 engine, stylish interior, and the strong feature set you get for the price. The expert review also highlights that it is fun to drive, comfortable, and easy to use, while the refreshed cabin feels much more upscale than before.

The main trade-offs are the lack of a hybrid or plug-in hybrid option and the cramped third row. In practical terms, that means it suits you best if you want a family SUV with strong road manners and modern tech, rather than maximum efficiency or adult-friendly third-row space.

With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still a healthy share of attractive pricing in the market.

Is the 2025 Ford Explorer reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The user feedback also points to a dependable-feeling package, with drivers describing the Explorer as a vehicle they trust for its strong performance and well-rounded ownership experience.

The expert review reinforces that sense of durability by describing the SUV as comfortable, easy to use, and well sorted in daily driving. Ford also includes a 90-day subscription to BlueCruise, which adds convenience for highway use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about choosing the right configuration for your needs, since the third row remains tight and there is no electrified option.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Explorer?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup is simplified to Active, ST-Line, Platinum, and ST. The base Active gets the refreshed styling and improved interior, but the ST-Line and higher trims add more upscale presentation and extra equipment. The Platinum is the most luxurious choice, while the ST is the performance-focused model.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The Platinum can be optioned with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6, and the ST gets that V6 standard. All versions use a 10-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Every version gets Ford CoPilot 360 Assist+, which includes adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist plus common driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. ST-Line and higher add Ford CoPilot 360 2.0 with a surround-view camera system, and BlueCruise is standard from ST-Line upward.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Ford Digital Experience. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Google Built-in, Amazon Alexa Built-in, and SiriusXM 360L are included.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.3-litre engine is rated at 11.9 L/100 km city, 8.7 highway, and 10.4 combined. The V6 in Platinum is rated at 13.0 city, 9.3 highway, and 11.3 combined, while the ST returns 13.3 city, 9.6 highway, and 11.6 combined.

Which 2025 Ford Explorer trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Explorer is offered in 4 trim levels: Active, ST-Line, Platinum, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• Active: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the refreshed design, the improved cabin, and the core tech and safety package. It makes sense if you want the newest Explorer experience without paying for extras you may not need.
• ST-Line: This is the best-value pick for many shoppers because it adds a sportier look, the surround-view camera system, and BlueCruise. If you want the most appealing mix of style, tech, and everyday usability, start here.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale feel and the available twin-turbo V6. It is the trim for buyers who care most about comfort, refinement, and stronger acceleration.
• ST: This is the performance choice, with the twin-turbo V6 standard and a sport-tuned setup. It suits you if driving enjoyment matters more than value or fuel use.

BlueCruise starts with ST-Line trim and higher, while the surround-view camera system also begins at ST-Line.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Explorer?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 345 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $51,910 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Explorer's resale value?

The current average of $51,910 CAD sits slightly below last year's $60,288 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you plan to resell later, the current softness could limit short-term upside unless you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition.

The Explorer’s broad appeal, updated tech, and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Well-equipped trims with desirable features are likely to hold attention better than stripped-down examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford Explorer safe?

The 2025 Ford Explorer earns five-star side-impact and four-star rollover resistance ratings from NHTSA. According to IIHS, it performs well on crash tests, though the headlights on Active, ST-Line, and ST trims are rated Marginal, while the Platinum’s headlights are rated Good.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every version includes Ford CoPilot 360 Assist+, which brings adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist along with common driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. Starting with ST-Line trim, you also get Ford CoPilot 360 2.0 with a surround-view camera system and BlueCruise hands-free highway driving, which comes with a 90-day subscription.

The main safety caveat is the headlight performance gap on the lower trims. If lighting performance matters to you, the Platinum has the strongest headlight rating in the lineup.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Explorer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings major updates in infotainment, safety tech, interior quality, and styling.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a Tremor model that becomes the most off-road-capable Explorer.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the refreshed cabin, updated tech, and stronger value positioning right now. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, the 2025 also looks attractive because prices have eased and there is still decent inventory to choose from. If off-road capability is a priority, the 2026 is worth a look instead.
