Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport a good car?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns a 7.8/10 from our experts, and the overview frames it as a compact crossover with a more adventurous character than the average SUV.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It stands out as a good all-around crossover with standard all-wheel drive, strong road manners, and a stylish design, while still leaning into off-road intent. The main trade-offs are excessive touchscreen controls and mediocre fuel economy.

With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to shop from if you want to balance features and price.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport reliable?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is presented as a rugged small SUV with standard all-wheel drive and a strong off-road focus, while still being usable for everyday driving.

Its performance hardware includes a dual-clutch rear-drive unit for torque vectoring, and the expert review describes it as composed, comfortable, and quiet on long highway drives even with off-road equipment fitted. Ford’s warranty coverage is also competitive for the segment, which helps support ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its more specialised off-road hardware and tech-heavy cabin can mean more to inspect carefully before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Black Diamond Package on the Big Bend and the Sasquatch Package on the Outer Banks and Badlands add modular steel bumpers, accessory mounting points, cast D-rings, a removable nudge bar, and underbody protection, so base-spec examples will feel less equipped for off-road use.
• Powertrain: Most trim levels use a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque, while Badlands models get a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 hp and 280 lb-ft; both use an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centring, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.
• Infotainment: You get a 13.2-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Sync 4. The available 360-degree camera system can also help with off-road driving.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-litre turbo-three is rated at 8.7 L/100 km combined, while the 2.0-litre turbo-four is rated at 10.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Ford Bronco Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is offered in 4 trim levels: Big Bend, Heritage, Outer Banks, Badlands.

Here's the short version:

• Big Bend: This is the entry point and the best-value starting place if you want the Bronco Sport’s core character without moving up the price ladder. It also serves as the base for the Black Diamond Package, which adds meaningful off-road hardware.
• Heritage: Choose this if you want the retro-inspired design focus mentioned in the pricing and equipment notes, but it is more about style than adding the most capability.
• Outer Banks: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale-feeling Bronco Sport and the option to add the Sasquatch Package for serious off-road hardware.
• Badlands: This is the one to buy if off-road capability matters most. It gets the 2.0-litre engine, extra off-road hardware, and the most capability-focused setup in the lineup.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to make comparison worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 898 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,630 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport's resale value?

The current average of $32,630 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,754 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to trim, condition, and equipment than it would be in a stronger pricing environment.

If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and choose a desirable trim or package, you should be better positioned when it comes time to sell. But if you buy at the top of the range, there is less room for appreciation if the market stays soft.

Is the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport safe?

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star frontal and side crash-test ratings and a four-star rollover crash-test rating. The IIHS gives it a “Good” score in the small overlap front test, a “Marginal” score in the updated moderate overlap front test, and an “Acceptable” rating in the updated side-impact test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centring, and automatic high beams. Reverse automatic emergency braking and traffic sign recognition are optional on Outer Banks and standard on Badlands.

The Marginal IIHS result in the updated moderate overlap front test is the main caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.93% compared with last year.
• Ford’s 2025 updates add new option packages and tech changes that strengthen the Bronco Sport’s off-road identity.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Bronco Sport with the latest equipment and a softer used-market price, the 2025 is the one to target. If you are mainly shopping on price, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025 gives you the clearest mix of updated tech and off-road-focused hardware.
