How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 8.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 96 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and an expert rating of 7.67/10, the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe looks like a strong pick if you want a full-size SUV with updated styling and a much more modern cabin. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The Tahoe’s appeal is rooted in its combination of capability and practicality, plus a restyled front and rear that gives it a fresher look. Its improved interior and fancy touchscreen make it feel more current, and the upgraded diesel adds a compelling mix of strong performance and impressive fuel economy for a vehicle this size.

The main trade-offs are tight cargo space with all rows in place and thirsty V8 engines. Even so, the Tahoe’s updated tech and strong towing ability make it especially appealing if you want a large SUV that still feels substantial and useful.

24.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tahoe’s 5.3-litre V8 is described as a battle-tested engine with a strong reputation for reliability, and the 10-speed automatic transmission is said to work fairly unobtrusively. The available Duramax diesel is also described as refined, smooth, and quiet, which supports the impression of a well-sorted powertrain.

Chevrolet also includes a broad standard ADAS suite, which can help reduce the risk of avoidable incidents over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Tahoe is a large, complex SUV, so upkeep and running costs can add up if you choose a higher-spec or more heavily equipped example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS is the no-frills starting point, while the LT, Z71, RST, Premier, and High Country add more equipment and, in some cases, a more luxurious or lifestyle-focused character. The Z71 is aimed at off-road capability, and the RST leans into street-performance-focused styling.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 5.3-litre V8, a 6.2-litre V8, or a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel. The diesel is the efficiency standout, with fuel consumption as low as 9.7 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway, and it is described as refined, smooth, and quiet.
• Safety package: Every Tahoe includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system. GM’s Super Cruise is available, though some late-2024 examples did not come with it.
• Infotainment: You get a 17.7-inch touchscreen, an 11-inch driver information screen, and an optional 15-inch head-up display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Google Built-in is integrated as well.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel is the most fuel-efficient of the three powertrains, with fuel consumption as low as 9.7 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe is offered in 6 trim levels: LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier, and High Country.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gets the new 17.7-inch touchscreen plus the standard ADAS suite, which makes it a strong choice if you want the updated Tahoe experience without stretching to a pricier trim.
• LT: This trim is the next step up and is one of the trims that can be paired with the diesel, so it makes sense if you want more flexibility in powertrain choice while staying below the upper luxury grades.
• Z71: This is the rugged choice, with full-length skid plates, front recovery hooks, all-terrain tires, and an extra 2.5-centimetre lift. It suits you best if you want the Tahoe’s capability with a more adventurous setup.
• RST: This trim leans into street-performance-focused styling and can also be had with the diesel or the 6.2-litre V8, so it works well if you want a more expressive look with strong powertrain options.
• Premier: This is the better-equipped luxury-leaning choice, and it can be paired with the diesel or the 6.2-litre V8 if you want more comfort and a stronger feature set.
• High Country: This is the top-tier trim and comes standard with the 6.2-litre V8, making it the one to choose if you want the most upscale Tahoe experience and the strongest standard engine.

The standard safety package is a real plus even on the LS, so you do not need to move up the trim ladder just to get a solid ADAS suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 24.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 96 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.03% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $86,499 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $86,499 CAD sits slightly below last year's $94,055 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about where the market is headed. If prices remain below last year’s level, resale values could stay under pressure unless demand strengthens or supply tightens.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe safe?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe has not been crash-tested by NHTSA, but the 2024 Tahoe earned four out of five stars in overall crash safety from NHTSA. The 2024 Tahoe also received an Acceptable rating in the IIHS small overlap front test and a Poor rating in the moderate overlap front updated test, and it was not awarded a Top Safety Pick designation.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet includes a strong standard safety package on every Tahoe: automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system. GM’s Super Cruise is available, though some late-2024 examples did not come with it.

The main caveat is that the IIHS results are mixed, so if safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to the equipment on the specific used Tahoe you are considering.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 24.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings a restyled front and rear, a much larger touchscreen, and an upgraded diesel engine that adds more horsepower and torque.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Tahoe with the best tech and a stronger diesel option, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into a Tahoe at the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025’s updates make it the more compelling choice overall.
