How much does the 2025 BMW i4 cost?

There are 101 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW i4 a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated model with an expert score of 7.8/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

The i4 stands out for its enjoyable driving character, impressive technology, and surprising utility from its rear hatch. Trade-offs include a potentially polarizing design and a cramped back seat.

With 27.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop carefully rather than rush.

Is the 2025 BMW i4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

BMW’s expert evaluation points to top-notch reliability, and the car’s engineering approach is described as a competitive EV built from a platform originally developed for an internal-combustion vehicle. The powertrain also delivers strong range and everyday usability, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

If you keep up with charging habits and routine maintenance, the main long-term risk for used buyers is more about wear, software, and feature complexity than basic durability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW i4?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base eDrive35 is the most affordable version and is positioned to qualify for provincial and territorial EV rebate programs where they still exist. Higher trims add more power, all-wheel drive, or performance tuning, while the test car’s M Sport Package also brought styling and chassis changes.
• Powertrain: The single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup in the eDrive40 prioritizes range and traditional BMW dynamics, while the dual-motor xDrive40 and M50 add all-wheel-drive traction and stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Every i4 gets forward collision warning and automatic high beams. Other features such as automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert vary by model or package. The Advanced Driver Assistance package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-centring assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assistant.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch driver display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen under BMW Curved Display, plus iDrive 8.5 with Quick Select, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air-friendly modern software features.
• Range & charging: The eDrive40 with 19-inch wheels is estimated at 475 km of range and 20.1 kWh/100 km, while standard 18-inch wheels bring 512 km of range and 18.7 kWh/100 km. The battery is 81 kWh, and a DC fast charge from 35% to 80% took 30 minutes in testing.
• Battery health: On a used EV, check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car has been charged over time, and favour examples that have seen a sensible mix of home charging and occasional DC fast charging. Also confirm how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2025 BMW i4 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW i4 is offered in 4 trim levels: eDrive35, eDrive40, xDrive40, M50.

Here's the short version:

• eDrive35: This is the entry point and the best fit if you want the lowest starting price and the chance to qualify for EV rebate programs where available.
• eDrive40: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it combines the longest driving range with rear-wheel-drive character and strong everyday usability.
• xDrive40: Choose this if you want dual-motor all-wheel drive and stronger traction without jumping all the way to the performance model.
• M50: Pick this if you want the most performance-focused version, with dual-motor AWD and the most aggressive tuning in the lineup.

BMW’s safety package strategy means some features are standard while others depend on the model or package, so check carefully for the driver-assistance equipment you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW i4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some patience and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 101 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• If you find a listing below $67,325 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW i4's resale value?

The current average of $71,558 CAD sits slightly below last year's $71,960 CAD.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable rather than volatile. For a future seller, that can be a positive sign because it points to predictable pricing rather than a sharp drop-off.

The i4’s strong mix of technology, utility, and owner satisfaction should help support demand when you eventually resell it. A model that holds buyer interest well tends to be easier to move at a competitive price.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 BMW i4 safe?

The BMW i4’s crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS were incomplete at the time of writing.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW equips every i4 with forward collision warning and automatic high beams as standard. Depending on the model, other features are either standard or available in a package, including automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Advanced Driver Assistance package adds adaptive cruise control as well as Driving Assistant Professional, which includes lane-centring assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and emergency stop assist. The Traffic Jam Assistant, also included with this package, is a hands-free driving feature for use on limited-access highways at speeds under 60 km/h.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW i4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings subtle design updates, a new infotainment system, and Plug & Charge convenience.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date i4 experience, the 2025 is the one to target because it adds meaningful tech improvements without a dramatic price swing. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025’s updated infotainment and charging convenience give it a clear edge for shoppers who value newer features.
