How much does the 2025 BMW 3 Series cost?

Is the 2025 BMW 3 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 3 Series earns an 8/10 expert rating, and the model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

The 2025 BMW 3 Series remains a benchmark among luxury sports sedans because it is still a thrill to drive, and the standard 330i with the M Sport Package is described as surprisingly satisfying. It also stands out for offering remarkably advanced technology for a vehicle nearing the end of its current generation.

The trade-offs are real: the interior is snug, the front seats may be less comfortable on longer trips or in hot weather, and the technology is easy to use but inconsistently named. Even so, the engaging driving experience and strong safety performance make it a compelling choice if you want a luxury sedan that prioritises driver enjoyment.

With 39.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 3 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 3 Series is presented as a well-sorted, refined luxury sedan with strong performance and a generally good ownership reputation for this generation. Its turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system is described as delightful, revving smoothly, sounding good, and offering plenty of power in most driving situations.

BMW’s maintenance coverage can also help reduce early ownership costs when applicable, and the car’s efficiency is a plus for daily use. Still, as with many premium sports sedans, long-term ownership risk for used buyers is tied to higher upkeep costs and the complexity that comes with advanced technology and performance hardware.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 3 Series?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: In Canada, the 3 Series is offered as the 330i xDrive, M340i xDrive, and M3. The 330i xDrive is the standard choice, while the M Sport Package adds minor styling changes, a sport-tuned suspension, variable sport steering, and an M leather steering wheel.
• Powertrain: The 330i xDrive uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, while the M340i xDrive and M3 use inline-six engines. The 330i is the swift version, and the standard eight-speed automatic includes Sport mode and paddle shifters.
• Safety package: BMW groups safety equipment into packages such as Active Protection System, Active Guard, Driving Assistant, Advanced Driver Assistance, and Driving Assistance Professional. Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking at city speeds, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control comes with the Advanced Driver Assistance Package, while Driving Assistance Professional adds evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: The 3 Series uses BMW Operating System 8.5 with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, iDrive controls on the centre console, and BMW Intelligent Assistant voice recognition. Wireless Apple CarPlay is supported, wireless Android Auto is standard, and the optional Premium Package adds parking assists with front and rear sensors, automatic braking, and multiple camera views.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating for the 330i xDrive is 8.0 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which 2025 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW 3 Series is offered in 3 trim levels: 330i xDrive, M340i xDrive, and M3.

Here's the short version:

• 330i xDrive: This is the best-value choice if you want the core 3 Series experience. It delivers the standard turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, strong efficiency, and the engaging chassis balance that defines the car, while the M Sport Package adds sharper steering and suspension tuning if you want a more athletic feel.
• M340i xDrive: Choose this if you want a clear step up in performance. It brings an inline-six engine and the more powerful, faster character that suits buyers who care more about acceleration and high-speed composure than keeping costs down.
• M3: This is the most extreme option in the range, aimed at buyers who want the highest level of performance and are willing to pay for it.

The standard safety equipment is broad, but BMW’s driver-assistance features are split across packages, so check carefully which systems are included on the specific car you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 163 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $55,149 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $55,149 CAD sits slightly below last year's $69,655 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more competition when it comes time to list. If you buy at today’s average, you may have less room for appreciation later unless demand strengthens. For resale, condition, mileage, and equipment will matter a lot, especially on well-optioned examples.

Is the 2025 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2025 BMW 3 Series earns the highest possible crash-test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), including top five-star ratings across the board in every evaluation, including rollover resistance.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW’s safety systems are split across several packages, which can make equipment tracking confusing. Standard features include the Active Protection System, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking at city speeds, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and post-collision braking. Adaptive cruise control is included with the Advanced Driver Assistance Package, and Driving Assistance Professional adds evasive steering assist.

The main caveat is that BMW’s packaging structure makes it important to verify exactly which driver-assistance features are fitted to the specific used car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.83% compared with last year.
• The 2025 model stands out for its minor updates and refinements, plus remarkably advanced technology for a car nearing the end of its current generation.

The bottom line:

If you want the most up-to-date version of this generation, the 2025 is the one to target because it combines strong driving enjoyment, excellent safety, and improved tech. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2025’s softened pricing and healthy inventory make it the cleaner buy if you can find the right example.
