Reviewed a 2024 Volkswagen SE FWD on Jan 20, 2025
I love the fact that it has heated seats, heated steering wheel and bright headlights for night time driving. A lot of good safety features as well. Overall, it's a great car with great features.

How much does the 2024 Volkswagen Taos cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $25,184 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $25,184 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $30,251 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $30,251 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −16.75% |
Prices have softened 16.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 799 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos a good car?
Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen Taos earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
With 29.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance of finding a competitively priced example.
Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
For used buyers, that kind of owner feedback suggests lower ownership risk if you choose a well-maintained example with a clean history.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Taos?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.
- Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 799 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.75% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $25,184 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos's resale value?
The current average of $25,184 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,251 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well below the current average matters more than usual. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Taos or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.75% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $24,074 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $25,184 CAD average.
- It adds more standard safety features and equipment.
The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the stronger current-market value story and are comfortable shopping for the right deal. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better price-sensitive path.
