How much does the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas cost?

There are 426 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating.

The model scores 8/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It is aimed squarely at you if you want a family-friendly, mid-size three-row SUV with generous space and a mainstream price position. The 2024 refresh adds different styling and more standard features, while the updated turbocharged four-cylinder gives the Atlas more power and torque than before.

The trade-offs are clear: the ride quality is poor, and the haptic controls are troublesome.

With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Atlas is presented as a practical, family-focused SUV with standard advanced safety features and a straightforward layout. The updated turbocharged four-cylinder is described as pulling strongly and smoothly, and the model’s standard all-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic support everyday usability.

Volkswagen also includes a four-year, 80,000-kilometre new vehicle warranty with roadside assistance, plus a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Atlas’s comfort and convenience strengths do not fully erase concerns about refinement and control usability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen Atlas?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Comfortline base model gets 18-inch alloy wheels and leatherette seats, while Highline adds 20-inch wheels and leather upholstery with contrast stitching. Execline brings 21-inch wheels, slightly sportier styling elements, diamond stitching, a head-up display, park assist, and a surround-view camera system. Peak Edition adds black 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a different front fascia, silver body cladding, blacked-out exterior trim, and model-specific colours.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive in Canada. The engine is tuned for comfort and frugality rather than performance.

• Infotainment: A 12-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster are standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, and six USB-C ports. A head-up display is standard on Execline.
• Fuel efficiency: Base fuel economy is 12.2 L/100 km in the city, 9.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.8 L/100 km combined. Peak Edition models are rated at 12.6/9.4/11.2 L/100 km, while Highline and Execline are rated at 13.0/9.7/11.5 L/100 km.

Which 2024 Volkswagen Atlas trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas is offered in 4 trim levels: Comfortline, Highline, Execline, and Peak Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Comfortline: This is the best-value choice if you want the Atlas’s core strengths without stretching the budget. It already brings the roomy cabin, standard advanced safety features, wireless smartphone integration, and a much richer equipment list than before.
• Highline: Choose this if you want a nicer cabin feel, leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and 20-inch wheels without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Execline: This is the most fully equipped mainstream choice, adding 21-inch wheels, a head-up display, park assist, and a surround-view camera system. It suits you if you want the most convenience and tech.
• Peak Edition: Pick this if you want the more outdoorsy look, blacked-out trim, all-terrain tires, and unique styling details. It is more about appearance and character than added capability.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, with Execline adding extra parking and camera assistance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Atlas?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 426 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.81% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,070 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas's resale value?

The current average of $41,070 CAD sits slightly below last year's $49,370 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Atlas has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help support demand in the near term. For a future seller, the current softness means you may need to price competitively to stand out. The Atlas’s strong space advantage and standard equipment should still help it hold interest among family shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas safe?

The 2024 Atlas earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash testing and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and Travel Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist for highway driving. Execline adds park assist and a surround-view camera system.

The structurally similar 2023 model received the highest “Good” score in all crash tests except the updated moderate overlap front test, where it was rated “Marginal.”

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 refresh adds more standard features and updated styling.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $45,761 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $41,070 CAD average.
• It brings only minor updates after the larger 2024 changes.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with the refreshed equipment list. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2025 is the secondary path, but it does not add much beyond the 2024 update.
