Used 2024 Volkswagen Atlas for Sale nearEdmonton, AB

How much does the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas cost?

Prices have softened 17.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 453 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It is aimed squarely at you if you want a family-friendly, three-row SUV with generous interior space, plenty of cargo room, and a mainstream price-and-equipment mix. The 2024 refresh adds updated styling and more standard features, which helps it stay relevant in a crowded segment.

The trade-offs are clear: the ride quality is poor, and the haptic controls are troublesome. Even so, the Atlas still makes sense if space and practicality matter more to you than polish.

With 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market offers a decent number of attractive opportunities.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Atlas is positioned as a practical family SUV, and the expert assessment supports that with a focus on space, standard equipment, and everyday usability. Its turbocharged four-cylinder engine is described as pulling strongly and smoothly, and the updated model adds more standard features without losing the Atlas’s core utility.

Volkswagen also includes a four-year, 80,000-kilometre new vehicle warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is whether the vehicle has been maintained carefully enough to offset its more ordinary refinement and complexity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen Atlas?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Comfortline gets 18-inch alloy wheels, while Highline moves to 20-inch wheels and Execline to 21-inch wheels with slightly sportier styling elements. Peak Edition adds black 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a different front fascia, silver body cladding, blacked-out exterior trim, and model-specific colours. Leatherette seats are standard, leather upholstery with contrast stitching is available on Highline, and Execline adds diamond stitching.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive in Canada. The Atlas is tuned more for comfort and frugality than performance.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and Travel Assist. Execline adds park assist and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: A 12-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster are standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, and six USB-C ports. Execline gets a head-up display, and higher trims add a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Base fuel economy is 12.2 L/100 km in the city, 9.2 on the highway, and 10.8 combined. Peak Edition models are rated at 12.6/9.4/11.2, while Highline and Execline are rated at 13.0/9.7/11.5.

Which 2024 Volkswagen Atlas trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas is offered in 4 trim levels: Comfortline, Highline, Execline, Peak Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Comfortline: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already brings a lot of standard equipment, including ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full suite of driver-assistance features. If you want the best balance of price and equipment, this is the trim to start with.
• Highline: This trim adds a more upscale feel with 20-inch wheels and available leather upholstery with contrast stitching. It suits you if you want a nicer cabin without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• Execline: This is the most fully equipped mainstream choice, adding a head-up display, park assist, and a surround-view camera system. It is the right pick if you want the most convenience and technology.
• Peak Edition: This trim is the one to choose if you want the more outdoorsy look, with black wheels, all-terrain tires, unique cladding, and model-specific colours. It is more about style and character than serious off-road ability.

The standard safety package is broad across the lineup, while Execline adds extra parking and camera tech.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Atlas?

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 453 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.12% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,832 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas's resale value?

The current average of $41,832 CAD sits slightly below last year's $50,474 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Atlas is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who pays closer to the high end. The Atlas’s broad family-SUV appeal should help keep demand steady, especially for well-equipped examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas safe?

The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash testing and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The structurally similar 2023 model received the highest “Good” score in all crash tests except the updated moderate overlap front test, where it was rated “Marginal.”

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 refresh adds more standard features and updated styling.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $46,795 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $41,832 CAD average.
• It brings only minor updates after the larger 2024 changes.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the smarter pick if you want the best mix of value, updated equipment, and strong market availability. If you are price-sensitive, the 2024 gives you the more compelling buy, while the 2025 mainly makes sense if you specifically want the newer model year and are willing to pay more for it.
