CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Tesla Model 3
Summary
With 147 currently listed for sale and an average price of $42,193 CAD, 14.3% of 2024 Tesla Model 3 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Tesla Model 3 4.8 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2024 Tesla Model 3 stands out as a compact electric sedan that leans heavily on Tesla’s software-first approach. It is known for quick acceleration, advanced tech, and strong battery range, while also offering the brand’s minimalist cabin layout and over-the-air updates. For buyers who want an EV that feels modern and remains closely tied to Tesla’s charging and software ecosystem, that combination is a major part of its appeal.
What makes the 2024 Tesla Model 3 especially distinctive is how much it prioritises efficiency and everyday usability without adding much clutter. The car’s appeal comes from its clean design, easy access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, and the sense that the vehicle can evolve through software rather than waiting for a full redesign. At the same time, it is not the most traditional choice: some shoppers may miss familiar smartphone integration, and the cabin’s pared-back layout will not suit everyone.

I wanted to give it 5 stars, but they took a lot of features out that I really appreciated… For example, in my 2018 model 3 I had premium Wi-Fi that was included as well as Home link… now you have to pay a subscription for these and they took out enhanced auto pilot… Now you have to pay for these features as well. I do, however, appreciate a lot of the upgrades, such as the cool seating, the automatic trunk close, the rear seat screen for passengers, and The upgraded windows that cancel outside noise much better

my model 3 is the best car Ive ever owned, especially considering the price. Ive paid a lot more for a lot less. Its a truly remarkable piece of technology. FSD is mind blowing and surprisingly in total control. Interior is minimal but highly advanced. Of course, range can be an issue on road trips if its your only family vehicle. I get about 205 real range miles of the 259 miles shown at 100%. For a daily drive vehicle in town though, I highly recommend. 5 stars

Is the 2024 Tesla Model 3 a good car?
Yes — 4.8/5 is a strong user rating for a compact electric sedan that leans heavily on Tesla’s software-first approach. If you want quick acceleration, advanced tech, strong battery range, and a minimalist cabin with over-the-air updates, this model year fits that brief well. It also appeals if you value easy access to Tesla’s Supercharger network and a car that can evolve through software rather than waiting for a full redesign. 17.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 Tesla Model 3 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2024 Tesla Model 3’s appeal comes from its efficiency, everyday usability, and software-led ownership experience. Its pared-back cabin and reliance on Tesla’s ecosystem will suit some buyers better than others, but the overall package is aimed at shoppers who want a modern EV with low running-cost appeal and strong battery range. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose matches your expectations for cabin layout and tech integration.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Tesla Model 3?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right car.
- Deal availability: 17.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 151 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.14% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $40,039 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Tesla Model 3's resale value?
The current average of $42,292 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,548 CAD.
That softer pricing can be helpful if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The current market suggests the Model 3 is still in demand, yet buyers have more leverage than they did a year ago. If you plan to resell later, the car’s strong tech appeal and EV positioning should help, but your return will still depend on how the market moves from here.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Tesla Model 3 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 17.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.14% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2024 Tesla Model 3 is the better fit if you want a modern EV with strong tech, quick acceleration, and a software-first ownership experience. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to keep an eye on nearby model years and compare listings closely, but the 2024 is a sensible primary target when you find one priced near the lower end of the range.
