Is the 2024 Subaru WRX a good car?

The 2024 Subaru WRX stands out because it keeps the formula that made the nameplate famous: a turbocharged Subaru Boxer engine and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It is also a sedan only, which gives it a more focused, performance-oriented identity. For buyers who want a practical sports car with genuine all-weather capability, that combination remains the WRX’s biggest draw.

The WRX’s strengths are its fun-to-drive character, great handling, and standard all-wheel drive, but its cons include outdated technology and poor fuel economy. Even so, the 2024 Subaru WRX remains appealing because it blends everyday usability with the kind of performance hardware and road feel that continue to define the model.

With 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitively priced example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 219 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.31% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,778 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $33,778 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,088 CAD.

That price movement suggests the WRX has softened in the used market, which can make it easier for you to buy at a more attractive entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale expectations should stay realistic unless the car is especially well kept or unusually desirable. If you buy carefully now, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation pain later.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.31% compared with last year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $31,223 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $33,778 CAD average.
• It offers strong handling and a manual transmission.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and a solid pool of listings to compare. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the better value path because it costs less while still delivering the WRX’s core appeal.
