Is the 2024 Subaru WRX a good car?

The 2024 Subaru WRX stands out as a practical performance car that still leans hard into its rally-bred identity. It comes standard with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and the WRX’s turbocharged Boxer engine and sharp handling are central to its appeal.

For buyers who want a compact sedan that feels more engaging than the average commuter car, that combination is a major part of the draw. It also offers a useful mix of everyday equipment and enthusiast hardware, making it a strong fit if you want year-round traction with genuine performance character.

35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Subaru WRX reliable?

The 2024 Subaru WRX is presented as a practical performance car with standard all-wheel drive and a usable everyday layout. Its appeal comes from a familiar formula rather than a complicated one, which can be reassuring if you want a straightforward sporty sedan.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that performance-oriented cars can be more demanding to live with than ordinary commuters, especially if previous owners drove them hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 232 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,853 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $33,913 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,543 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the WRX has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition when they go to list theirs. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less room for appreciation later. For resale, condition and mileage will matter a lot because shoppers in this segment tend to compare closely on value.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $31,184 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $33,913 CAD average.
• It keeps the WRX's rally-inspired appeal and manual-transmission draw.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better primary pick if you want the current-year market and a broader pool of listings to compare. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the smarter secondary path because it delivers the same core enthusiast character for less money.
