Is the 2024 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 RAM 3500 earns a 5/5 user rating, and it backs that up with a heavy-duty focus on towing, payload, and everyday comfort. The overview points to a truck that blends serious capability with the kind of technology and comfort you might want in a daily driver, including available luxury and tech features. It is especially appealing if you prioritise towing strength and utility over compact manoeuvrability or a quieter driving experience. With 34.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to shop from.

Is the 2024 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a truck built around proven heavy-duty capability, with a strong emphasis on towing, payload, and upscale equipment rather than novelty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s mission and more about whether you are comfortable living with its size, diesel noise, and limited safety technology.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 380 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $70,228 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $70,228 CAD sits slightly below last year's $83,220 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your resale outcome will depend heavily on how well the truck holds demand in the heavy-duty segment. A well-equipped example with the right capability and condition should remain attractive to buyers who need serious towing and payload.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the right pick if you want the current-generation RAM 3500 formula with strong capability, a premium-feeling cabin, and a market that has eased from last year’s pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 makes the most sense when you want the balance of capability and comfort without paying peak pricing.
