Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 RAM 1500?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,612 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.58% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $52,337 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $52,595 CAD sits slightly below last year's $60,165 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays under pressure. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s current pricing trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping mileage and condition in check. Strong demand for well-equipped full-size trucks can still support resale, especially when the vehicle has broad appeal and a strong reputation with owners.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,594 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $52,595 CAD average.
• It offers a comfortable ride and premium-feeling materials.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $63,392 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $52,595 CAD average.
• It adds more technology and more efficient powertrain options.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-round choice if you want the strongest mix of comfort, refinement, and current-market value. If price is your top priority, the 2023 is the smarter path; if you want newer tech and are willing to pay more, the 2025 is the upgrade to watch.
