Is the 2024 Porsche Macan a good car?

The 2024 Porsche Macan stands out as a compact luxury SUV that puts driving enjoyment ahead of outright practicality. It has all-wheel drive and a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung automatic transmission, and its sportier brief gives it a more athletic character than many rivals in the segment.

The cabin is also a strength, with a high-quality interior and standard equipment that has been built up over time. For 2024, the Macan benefits from the updates that brought LED headlights and Apple CarPlay compatibility as standard across the range. It also remains highly configurable, with a wide selection of options and option packs that can add features such as air suspension, ceramic brakes, a panoramic sunroof, a Burmester premium audio system, and Sport Chrono Package hardware.

Its main compromises are familiar ones. Rear-seat space is below average, and the model is starting to feel dated compared with some rivals. Even so, the 2024 Porsche Macan remains distinctive for combining Porsche branding, sharp handling, and a premium feel in a compact SUV package.

40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is meaningful value in the market if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Porsche Macan reliable?

The 2024 Porsche Macan benefits from a premium-feeling cabin and standard equipment that has been built up over time, which supports its appeal as a used luxury SUV. It also carries the kind of polished, well-developed character you would expect from a model that has been refined over several years.

Its main drawbacks are more about age and packaging than outright mechanical complexity. The model is starting to feel dated compared with some rivals, and higher-powered versions return poor fuel economy.

For a used buyer, that means long-term ownership risk is more about choosing the right example and keeping up with maintenance than expecting a simple, low-cost ownership experience.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Porsche Macan?

This looks like a buyer’s market for the 2024 Porsche Macan, with softer pricing and a decent pool of listings to compare.

• Deal availability: 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 201 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.21% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $77,856 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $78,542 CAD sits slightly below last year's $87,470 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition when it is time to trade in or list the vehicle. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. A clean, well-optioned example should still be easier to position than one that is poorly equipped or priced above the market.

Should I buy a 2024 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.21% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2024 Macan makes the most sense if you want the updated standard equipment and the familiar Porsche driving character in a compact luxury SUV. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may deliver a lower entry point, but the 2024 is the better pick if you value the stronger standard feature set and are willing to shop the market carefully.
