How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 5.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated model with an expert rating of 7.7/10. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

The 2024 CX-30 fits you well if you want a small crossover that leans into style and driving enjoyment rather than maximum space. Mazda’s smallest crossover SUV has standard all-wheel drive, a polished feel, and a more energetic attitude than many rivals in the segment.

The main trade-offs are that rear-seat room is tight and the turbocharged version is noted for poor fuel economy. Even so, the CX-30’s refined character and strong safety credentials make it appealing if you value a compact SUV that feels more engaging than utilitarian.

33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-30’s appeal is built around a refined, well-finished small crossover formula, and Mazda positions it as a polished choice with strong safety and a premium feel for the class. Its standard all-wheel drive and updated equipment for 2024 add to the sense that it’s designed to be a dependable everyday vehicle.

Mazda also includes a complimentary two-year subscription to Mazda Connected Services, which adds some ownership value. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the CX-30’s tight rear seat and limited cargo space may remain limiting if your needs grow.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-30?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX, GS, GT, and Suna trims differ in equipment, with the base setup missing some driver-assistance features that move in at the GS trim. Higher trims add more upscale touches, but you should make sure the features you want are actually included on the specific vehicle you’re considering.
• Powertrain: You can choose between the standard 191-hp 2.5-litre four-cylinder and the turbocharged four-cylinder in Suna models, with the turbo also optional on GT. The standard engine is the better pick if you care about efficiency, while the turbo delivers more power and a more rewarding drive.
• Safety package: The CX-30 includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert on every version, while forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control come in at the GS trim. GT and Suna models add front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: GT and Suna versions get a 10.25-inch infotainment display, while other models use an 8.8-inch screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, and the larger screen adds touchscreen functionality when you use smartphone mirroring.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged engine is the thirstier choice, with Natural Resources Canada citing 9.3 L/100 km in combined driving, and the standard 191-hp engine is described as returning decent fuel efficiency.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 4 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, and Suna.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point if you want the CX-30’s style, standard all-wheel drive, and core appeal at the lowest price. It makes sense if you’re focused on getting into the model without paying for extra equipment.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the key driver-assistance features that are missing from the base setup. If you want the strongest balance of equipment and value, this is the one to target.
• GT: Choose this if you want a more upscale experience, including the larger 10.25-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone charging, a Bose premium audio system, and added safety hardware such as parking sensors and a surround-view camera.
• Suna: This is the most distinctive and most fully equipped version, with the turbocharged engine, the larger infotainment screen, and the richest feature set. It suits you best if you want the most power and the most premium presentation.

The GS trim is the key safety-package step up, since several important driver-assistance features move in at that level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-30?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 445 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.65% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,146 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $29,160 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,905 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-30 is currently more accessible for used buyers than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means you may not see the same pricing strength if market conditions stay soft.

The model’s strong safety reputation and broad appeal should help support demand, especially if you have a well-equipped trim. Still, the tight rear seat and limited cargo space may cap how much pricing power it can command versus roomier rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-30 is a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS and earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment except rollover resistance, where it gets a four-star rating.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Every version includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control are part of the CX-30’s driver-assistance suite, though those latter features are not standard in Canada until the GS trim. Higher trims add adaptive headlights, parking sensors with automatic braking, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and traffic jam assist.

One caveat is that the automatic curve speed reduction technology can feel too aggressive in use.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds a new Suna trim, USB-C charging ports, and an available larger infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,790 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $29,160 CAD average.
• It offers an attractive design and a classy, high-quality interior.

The bottom line: If you want the updated 2024 CX-30’s added tech and trim choice, it’s the better all-round pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 remains a smart alternative because it keeps the CX-30’s core strengths while asking for less money.
