The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is built around a familiar V6 or V8 setup with an eight-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive in Canada, which gives you a straightforward mechanical package. Its mix of space, refinement, towing strength, and off-road hardware points to a vehicle designed for broad family use as well as tougher conditions. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a more complex, premium-leaning SUV can be costlier to keep in top shape than a simpler mainstream alternative.

What is the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L's resale value?

The current average of $42,016 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,455 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more value now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. If you plan to resell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on condition, mileage, and equipment to help your vehicle stand out. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 24.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $40,655 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $42,016 CAD average.
• It offers a more comfort-focused take on the Grand Cherokee L with premium-feeling materials.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2024 if you want the stronger current-market value picture and a broad pool of listings to compare. If your priority is saving a bit more upfront, the 2023 is the better price-sensitive path.
