Used 2024 Hyundai Sonata for Sale nearEdmonton, AB

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Sonata cost?

Prices have softened 15.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 140 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata stands out as a midsize sedan that blends distinctive styling with a long list of standard equipment. For 2024, Hyundai gave it a major refresh with new front and rear styling, and inside the dashboard was completely redesigned to integrate a pair of 12.3-inch screens, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, and a different style of gear selector.

It also comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB ports, heated front seats, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel, while safety tech such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear seat reminders, driver-attention warnings, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection is included.

It is also appealing because it offers a roomy, well-equipped cabin and a relaxed driving character. The Sonata has above-average interior and trunk space, though less than the Honda Accord, and it is described as a relaxing, well-equipped cruiser rather than a sporty sedan.

The market shows 29.3% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata is presented as a well-equipped, comfortable midsize sedan with a broad safety and convenience list, which supports its appeal for everyday use. It also offers strong efficiency options in this generation, with the hybrid rated at 5.0 litres per 100 kilometres combined and most gas-only versions ranging between 7.7 and 8.8 L/100 km combined.

The trade-off is that it is not as sporty to drive as it looks, and the hybrid powertrain was dropped in Canada after the 2024 refresh.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about choosing the right configuration and condition than chasing performance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.62% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,889 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $28,889 CAD sits slightly below last year's $34,237 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive level today, but it also means the market has already adjusted downward. If you plan to sell later, your resale outcome will depend heavily on how well the car is equipped, maintained, and priced against similar listings.

For a future seller, the current trend suggests you may need to be realistic on asking price if market conditions stay soft. A well-kept Sonata should still appeal to shoppers looking for value, but the recent decline means there is less cushion than there was a year ago.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.62% compared with last year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $31,885 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $28,889 CAD average.
• It adds rear-seat vents and improved crash-test ratings.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better primary pick if you want the strongest value and a lower entry price. If you are willing to spend more for newer safety improvements and a slightly more up-to-date package, the 2025 is the better secondary path; otherwise, the 2024 gives you the sharper deal.
