CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Honda Pilot
Summary
With 13 currently listed for sale near Winnipeg, MB and an average price of $41,995.00 CAD, 23.1% of 2024 Honda Pilots for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Honda Pilot 4.4 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Honda Pilot stands out as a roomy, family-focused three-row SUV that keeps a car-like feel while offering the practicality many buyers want. It can seat up to eight passengers, and the buying guide notes that it offers more third-row legroom and headroom than competitors such as the Ford Explorer, the Toyota Highlander, and the Kia Telluride. That same guide also points to Honda’s conservative design approach, which helps even older examples avoid looking dated, and to the Pilot’s strong reputation for safety and reliability.
What makes the 2024 model especially distinctive is how much equipment it brings to the table. In Canada, Honda’s i-VTM4 all-wheel drive system is standard, and the Pilot includes drive modes for normal, ECON, snow, tow, sport, trail, and sand. The cabin also gets Honda’s “magic” second-row seats, which let the middle seat be removed and stored under the rear cargo floor. On the technology side, the base trim includes a seven-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a seven-speaker sound system, while higher trims add a larger touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, a wireless phone charger, and available premium audio and navigation.
There are trade-offs, though. The buying guide says the Pilot lags behind some rivals in infotainment and fit and finish, and the pros and cons section calls out average fuel economy and interior materials that feel cheap. Even so, the 2024 Honda Pilot remains appealing because it combines generous space, a long list of safety features, and useful everyday versatility in a package that is still easy to live with.

It has everything I was looking for in an SUV and I saved a ton of money due to Honda not selling over MSRP. I looked at the Lexus SUV that is similar and the Pilot hands down is better and 20k cheaper.

This vehicle was a great choice for me as it provides the room and flexibility, I am looking for with downsizing from a full-size crew cab pickup.

Reviewed a 2024 Honda TrailSport AWD on Feb 25, 2024
Would have given it 5 stars but when I find after the fact that I spend 50k+ for a car that has a tow hitch but Honda can’t put in a wiring harness for it and I have to spend more money on that is disappointing, I test drove other vehicles that came with the harness and where cheaper. Gets me wondering what else did they go cheaper on. I enjoy it so far the car is great so far but that is just a thorn in my side.

How much does the 2024 Honda Pilot cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $49,563 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $49,563 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $56,065 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $55,960 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −11.43% |
Prices have softened 11.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 180 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable range of options to compare.
Is the 2024 Honda Pilot a good car?
Generally — the 2024 Honda Pilot earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers repeatedly praise its spaciousness, its ability to fit eight passengers, and the value it offers compared with other SUVs. That makes it a sensible fit if you want a family-focused three-row SUV with lots of features and everyday practicality. With 24.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 Honda Pilot reliable?
Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable and easy to live with over time, especially for family use. The recurring praise for spaciousness and value suggests it is the kind of SUV people can count on for regular duties. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some owners have noted concerns about engine performance, handling, and missing equipment relative to price.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Pilot?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on standout listings.
- Deal availability: 24.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 180 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.43% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $49,563 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Honda Pilot's resale value?
The current average of $49,563 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,960 CAD.
That price movement suggests the Pilot has become more affordable in the used market, which can help you buy in at a lower cost today. For a future seller, that also means resale expectations should be set with the current softer market in mind. Even so, the Pilot’s broad family appeal and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 24.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.43% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $48,299 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $49,563 CAD average.
- The 2023 brings a redesigned cabin with more rugged styling and useful convenience features.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $55,484 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $49,563 CAD average.
- The 2025 keeps the formula simple with standard all-wheel drive and a practical, easy-to-live-with setup.
The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around pick if you want a well-rated Pilot with softened pricing and decent deal availability. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want to spend more for the newer model-year setup, the 2025 is the alternative to compare.
