Used 2024 Dodge Hornet for Sale near Prince Edward Island

How much does the 2024 Dodge Hornet cost?

Prices have softened 14.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 335 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Dodge Hornet a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Dodge Hornet earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Hornet fits you well if you want a compact crossover with Dodge attitude, standard all-wheel drive, and a more modern tech setup than you might expect in this segment. The overview also points to a model that is meant to balance performance with efficiency, especially if you are considering the plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The trade-offs are clear: the back seat is described as claustrophobic, cargo space is limited, and the R/T trim is called poor value. Even so, the Hornet’s 25.4% good-and-great deal share suggests there are still worthwhile listings if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Dodge Hornet reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Hornet is presented as a modern compact crossover with standard all-wheel drive and a strong equipment list, which supports confidence for everyday use. Its expert assessment also highlights a well-rounded package rather than a stripped-down entry model, and the performance notes point to a powertrain lineup that is designed to deliver both pace and efficiency.

The cost-effectiveness notes also suggest that the Hornet’s standard features help justify its pricing, especially when you compare it with similarly equipped rivals. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher running costs or a more complex plug-in hybrid setup could matter more if you choose the pricier trims.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Dodge Hornet?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Hornet’s trim structure matters because the gas-powered GT and GT Plus sit below the more expensive R/T and R/T Plus plug-in hybrid versions. The interior is described as more modern than other Dodge models, with a widescreen infotainment display, physical climate controls, and sporty touches, but some steering-wheel buttons feel dated and the seats may be too heavily bolstered for typical shoppers.
• Powertrain: The GT uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the R/T adds a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, a 15.5-kWh battery, and two electric motors for 288 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The GT requires premium fuel, and the R/T can drive in all-electric, hybrid, or battery-saving modes.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. A more advanced adaptive cruise system with traffic-sign recognition is available, and level 2 autonomous driving functions are available with the Tech Pack.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.25-inch touchscreen with UConnect 5, a 12.3-inch digital driver information display, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and over-the-air capability through the connected system. A premium Harman Kardon audio system and wireless phone charger are also available.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT should return 11.2 L/100 km in the city, 8.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 9.9 L/100 km combined. The R/T PHEV is rated at 3.1 litres-equivalent per 100 kilometres in hybrid mode.

Which 2024 Dodge Hornet trim should I buy?

The 2024 Dodge Hornet is offered in 4 trim levels: GT, GT Plus, R/T, and R/T Plus.

Here's the short version:

• GT: This is the entry point if you want the Hornet’s standard all-wheel drive, 268-horsepower turbo four-cylinder, and strong technology without stepping into plug-in hybrid pricing. It gives you the core Hornet experience at the lowest cost, so it is the best-value choice for most shoppers.
• GT Plus: Choose this if you want a more upscale version of the gas model and are willing to pay more for added equipment. It makes sense if you like the GT’s powertrain but want a richer feature set.
• R/T: This is the plug-in hybrid choice if you want more power, electric driving capability, and the ability to save fuel on shorter commutes. It adds the 1.3-litre turbo engine, battery, and electric motors, but the higher price means you should buy it only if you will use the EV capability regularly.
• R/T Plus: This is the most expensive version and is best for shoppers who want the most equipment and do not mind paying a premium for it. The expert review calls the R/T trim poor value, so this is the one to approach most cautiously.

The standard safety package is strong across the lineup, with adaptive cruise control included and more advanced driver-assistance features available on higher-spec or optioned models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Dodge Hornet?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 335 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.12% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,893 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Dodge Hornet's resale value?

The current average of $35,893 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,794 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Hornet has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you choose a well-equipped trim with broad appeal, you may have a better chance of holding value than if you pay top dollar for a higher-priced version.

The market also shows a decent number of listings, which can keep resale competition active. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Dodge Hornet safe?

The 2024 Dodge Hornet has not yet been evaluated or crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. A more advanced version of adaptive cruise control with traffic-sign recognition is available for an extra cost, and the Tech Pack adds level 2 autonomous driving functions with intelligent speed assist and lane-tracing assist.

Should I buy a 2024 Dodge Hornet or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 stands out for its standard all-wheel drive, strong technology, and available plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The bottom line: If you want the Hornet’s current mix of performance, technology, and standard AWD, the 2024 is the clear path to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, shop carefully for a lower-priced listing and prioritise the GT before moving up to the more expensive plug-in hybrid trims.
