Used 2024 BMW X5 for Sale nearGatineau, QC

How much does the 2024 BMW X5 cost?

Prices have softened 13.63% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 164 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 BMW X5 earns a 4.83/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth hybrid performance, impressive technology, and comfort. The X5 also gets credit for hands-free driving capability and electric range, which make it especially appealing if you want a premium SUV that can handle daily driving with less fuel use.

The trade-offs are clear: voice recognition is weak, advanced safety features are not standard, and value for money is poor. For you, that means the X5 makes the most sense if driving enjoyment and upscale feel matter more than bargain pricing.

Only 31.7% of listings are marked as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many buyers, with strong satisfaction around the X5’s smooth hybrid operation and overall usability. The expert evaluation also reinforces that impression by describing the SUV as well screwed together, with a high-quality cabin and a sense of precision in how it’s assembled.

BMW also notes that the xDrive50e can save you money at the pump thanks to its electric-only driving range, which can help reduce day-to-day operating costs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium parts, complex technology, and higher-end powertrains can still make repairs and upkeep expensive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The X5’s M Sport treatment changes the look, and the optional 21-inch wheel package adds style but can increase replacement-tire costs. The xDrive40i and xDrive50e can be had with M Sport or M Sport Pro packages, so check which appearance and equipment bundle you’re getting.
• Powertrain: You can choose a turbocharged inline six-cylinder, a turbo-six plug-in hybrid, a turbocharged V8, or the high-performance X5 M Competition. The xDrive50e is the standout if you want electric-only driving capability and strong overall performance.
• Safety package: Highway Assistant hands-free driving assistance is available, and it works with Assisted Driving Plus cruise control mode. It performs best in dense, slow-moving traffic or light highway traffic, but it is not standard.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel with a 14.9-inch touchscreen. You get wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, over-the-air updates, and BMW Operating System 8.5.
• Fuel efficiency: The xDrive50e is rated at 10.6 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test vehicle recorded 7.0 L/100 km on one journey and 6.0 L/100 km on another. It also delivered 25.9 kWh/100 km and 23.0 kWh/100 km in electric driving.

Which 2024 BMW X5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW X5 is offered in 4 trim levels: xDrive40i, xDrive50e, M60i, X5 M Competition.

Here's the short version:

• xDrive40i: This is the entry point if you want the X5’s core luxury-SUV experience with the turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine and BMW’s standard all-wheel drive. It makes sense if you want the least expensive path into the lineup, but you should still compare equipment carefully because advanced safety features are not standard.
• xDrive50e: This is the best-value choice for most buyers because it adds plug-in hybrid capability, strong performance, and meaningful electric-only range. It’s the version that best matches the X5’s blend of efficiency, comfort, and driving enjoyment.
• M60i: Choose this if you want the turbocharged V8 and stronger straight-line performance. It suits you if power matters more than efficiency or purchase price.
• X5 M Competition: This is the top performance model, aimed at buyers who want maximum capability and are willing to pay for it.

Highway Assistant is available, but it is not standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 164 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.63% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $70,374 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $70,955 CAD sits slightly below last year's $82,153 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more price pressure than owners did a year ago. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower average price point than last year, which can help cushion depreciation if the market stays steady.

The X5’s premium positioning and strong demand for well-equipped luxury SUVs should still support interest from shoppers looking for a refined, performance-oriented family vehicle. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 safe?

The 2024 X5 earns high ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, although lower headlight ratings kept it from earning an IIHS safety award. It earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW’s Highway Assistant hands-free driving assistance system is available, and it works with Assisted Driving Plus cruise control mode. Standard operation includes clear status indicators in the digital instrument cluster or head-up display, plus green lights on the steering wheel when the system is active.

The main caveat is that the system can brake unexpectedly in some traffic situations, and the X5’s advanced safety features are not standard.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 update adds the BMW Curved Display and available Highway Assistant.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $85,077 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $70,955 CAD average.
• It adds a limited-edition 25th-anniversary model.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with the updated cabin and strong owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a special-edition angle, the 2025 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2024.
