Is the 2024 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2024 BMW 3 Series earns a 5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a premium compact luxury sedan. It stands out because it still delivers the mix of performance, handling, and luxury that made the name so important in the first place. In Canada, this generation is offered only as a four-door sedan, and BMW pairs that with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission across the lineup. For you, that means a polished, capable daily driver with a sharp driving character and practical everyday usability. The market also shows 35.0% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 BMW 3 Series also has a generally good reliability record, and its cabin updates help it feel current and well sorted. Standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto add to the sense that it is built for modern use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium features and advanced safety systems can add cost if you want a more heavily equipped example.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without needing to rush every listing.

What is the 2024 BMW 3 Series' resale value?

The current average of $47,037 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,607 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the car easier to buy now but may temper short-term seller expectations. If you plan to resell later, the current average gives you a realistic benchmark for what buyers are paying today. A well-kept example with desirable equipment should still attract attention, especially if it presents as a premium, modern sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $39,856 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $47,037 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed look and updated technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $55,339 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,037 CAD average.
• It adds refinements and keeps the driving experience engaging.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around pick if you want the current-year balance of price, satisfaction, and market availability. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want to spend more for the newest version.
