Is the 2024 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 BMW 3 Series. It stands out because it still delivers the mix of performance, handling, and luxury that made the name so important in the first place. In Canada, you get a four-door sedan with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, so it feels polished and capable without losing the sharp driving character you expect from a 3 Series. It also remains practical enough for everyday use, with a sober, business-like cabin and ample trunk space in most versions. 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 BMW 3 Series also has a generally good reliability record, which supports its appeal as a premium daily driver. Its mix of standard all-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic, and a well-finished cabin points to a car that should feel composed over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium features and advanced systems can mean higher repair costs if maintenance has been deferred.

What is the 2024 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $47,196 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,406 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently today, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about where the market has settled. If prices remain near the current average, resale values should stay anchored by the model’s premium positioning and broad appeal. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $40,036 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $47,196 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed look and updated technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $55,123 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,196 CAD average.
• It keeps the engaging drive while adding refinements and updated tech.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around pick if you want the current mix of performance, luxury, and value. If your priority is spending less, the 2023 is the smarter price-sensitive choice, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer model-year refinements and can stretch your budget.
