Used 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan for Sale nearBrantford, ON

How much does the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

Prices have softened 16.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 789 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The Tiguan stands out as a crossover SUV that feels more upscale in appearance and more enjoyable to drive than many of its primary competitors. It also has a stylish design and great handling, which helps give it a more polished character than many shoppers expect in this class.

The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and unintuitive technology, so you should be comfortable with a vehicle that prioritises refinement and practicality over outright pace or simple controls.

It also posts a 28.3% share of good and great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tiguan is presented as a well-rounded, practical SUV with strong everyday usefulness, and the expert review also highlights its solid construction and good value. Its powertrain is described as adequate but not especially smooth or powerful, so the main ownership concern is less about basic durability and more about living with its quirks over time.

Volkswagen also includes a complimentary subscription to Car-Net Remote Access with features such as remote engine starting and a find my car function, which adds some ownership convenience.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is that the same tech and control frustrations noted in testing may continue to affect day-to-day satisfaction.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base setup includes keyless entry with remote start and an 8-way power driver’s seat, while higher trims add a more upscale cabin, larger wheels, adaptive front lighting, and a light bar across the grille. The trim structure also affects how much choice you get in colours, wheels, and upholstery.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In Canada, 4Motion all-wheel drive is standard, and the powertrain is described as adequate but not especially smooth or strong at higher revs.
• Safety package: Front Assist and Side Assist are standard, with forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. IQ.Drive is optional on base models and standard on other models, adding adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active blind-spot monitoring, Lane Assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist.
• Infotainment: Lower trims use a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while other trims get an 8-inch unit; R-Line trims add a 10.25-inch digital display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, Car-Net connected services, SiriusXM 360L, and a nine-speaker Fender sound system are included on the top trim.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the R-Line trims should average 9.8 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 10.4 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan trim should I buy?

The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan is offered in 4 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, Comfortline R-Line Black, and Highline R-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the entry point if you want the Tiguan’s core strengths at the lowest price, including standard keyless entry with remote start, an 8-way power driver’s seat, and the standard safety hardware. It makes sense if you want the Tiguan’s space and safety without paying for the more elaborate trims.
• Comfortline: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value, since it builds on the base model without jumping all the way to the most expensive versions. It should suit you if you want a more complete daily driver without chasing the top-end appearance upgrades.
• Comfortline R-Line Black: This trim adds the sportier R-Line look, which is the main reason to move up if styling matters to you. It is a good fit if you want the Tiguan to look more distinctive without necessarily going all the way to the top trim.
• Highline R-Line: This is the best choice if you want the most upscale Tiguan, with the larger 10.25-inch display, premium cabin materials, panoramic sunroof, surround-view camera, parking sensors, and the most polished appearance. It is the one to buy if you want the fullest feature set and the strongest premium feel.

IQ.Drive is optional on base models and standard on other models, so that safety-package difference is worth checking before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 789 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,238 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $27,238 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,592 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Tiguan easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current softness means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. Well-equipped examples with strong presentation should still be easier to move than stripped or heavily worn ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan safe?

The 2023 Tiguan earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS for the 2022 calendar year, and NHTSA testing is incomplete.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

All Tiguans have standard Front Assist and Side Assist. Front Assist includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, while Side Assist adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Volkswagen also includes an Automatic Post Collision Braking System.

IQ.Drive is optional on base models and standard on other models, and it adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active blind-spot monitoring, Lane Assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist. That means the base trim is the one to watch if you want the full driver-assistance suite.

One caveat is that NHTSA says the driver’s door unlatched and opened during the side-impact test, which is a safety concern worth noting.

Should I buy a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines upscale styling, strong practicality, and standard safety tech.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,258 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,238 CAD average.
• It was refined rather than reinvented, with a light refresh and added safety tech.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,476 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $27,238 CAD average.
• It adds value with upgrades and standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and satisfaction, the 2023 is the primary path to consider. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter alternative, while the 2024 makes sense if you want to pay more for newer upgrades.
