Is the 2023 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Nissan Sentra earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a value-focused compact sedan. It leans into comfort, everyday usability, and a straightforward commuter role rather than flash, and it pairs that with a strong safety feature set and a more modern look than older Sentras. If you want a sensible small sedan with a range of trims from basic transportation to a more upscale feel, it fits that brief well. With 28.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Sentra’s reliability case is supported by its emphasis on simple, everyday usability, comfort, and a safety package that suits commuter duty. Its strengths are described as stylish design, comfort, and excellent value for money, which points to a car built around practical ownership rather than complexity. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that it is still a mainstream compact sedan with trade-offs in performance and technology, so condition and maintenance history matter.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 605 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,257 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $20,257 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,967 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim rather than broad market appreciation. A well-kept Sentra should still appeal to shoppers looking for comfort and value in a compact sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $19,006 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,257 CAD average.
• It feels broadly competent and current without relying on flash.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $21,700 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $20,257 CAD average.
• It adds refreshed styling and improved fuel economy.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want a balanced mix of value, comfort, and safety features at a softened market price. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the smarter budget path; if you want the newer look and efficiency improvements, the 2024 is worth the extra money.
