How much does the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder cost?

Is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfortable interior, and especially the second-row seating, along with the sound system. The Pathfinder also gets credit for its roomy cabin, usable third row, and strong utility for family life and road trips. On the downside, the starting price is high, the shifter design can be confusing, and ride quality can be hard to balance.

For you, that means the Pathfinder makes the most sense if you want a family-focused midsize SUV that can handle commuting, errands, and longer trips without feeling plain. It is especially appealing if you value space and comfort over chasing the newest tech gimmicks.

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers repeatedly describe the Pathfinder as comfortable, practical, and dependable for everyday use, with praise for its seating, interior space, and overall utility. The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels well suited to long-term family duty, especially when you want a roomy SUV you can count on.

From an expert perspective, it comes across as a solid all-rounder with smooth power delivery and a useful set of drive modes, which supports confidence in daily ownership. The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that some of the more polarising design choices and comfort compromises may become more noticeable over time.

Which 2023 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 6 trim levels: S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, SL Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it already gives you AWD, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, and the 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is the value play if you want the Pathfinder’s core space and safety without paying for extras.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a panoramic moonroof, surround-view monitor, LED fog lamps, and a motion-activated power liftgate. It also unlocks the tow hitch receiver and more towing capability, making it a strong all-rounder.
• Rock Creek: Choose this if you want the tougher look and the added rugged hardware, including off-road tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, a roof rack, and water-repellent interior materials. It suits you best if you like the Pathfinder’s family role but want a more adventurous personality.
• SL: This is the comfort-and-tech step up, with leather seats, wireless charging, ProPILOT Assist with traffic-sign recognition, and the larger 9-inch touchscreen. It is a smart pick if you want a more premium daily driver.
• SL Premium: This trim adds 20-inch wheels, a head-up display, and a Bose audio system. It makes sense if you care about cabin ambience and audio quality.
• Platinum: This is the top trim, with second-row captain chairs, ventilated front seats, a digital instrument cluster, and a front-row centre air bag. It is the one to buy if you want the most upscale Pathfinder experience.

The safety package is broad across the range, but the SV, SL, and Platinum add useful extras that make them easier to live with.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Pathfinder?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 480 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.64% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,552 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $37,552 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,986 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Pathfinder has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract interest if the vehicle is well kept. A softer market can also mean you may need to price competitively when it is time to sell, especially if similar listings remain plentiful.

The good news is that the Pathfinder’s broad appeal as a family SUV should help support demand. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS. The identical 2022 model received four-star ratings in front crash protection and rollover, and five-star ratings in side crash protection.

Standard safety equipment includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward and reverse collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, rear parking sensors, driver-attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and ProPILOT Assist with lane centring and adaptive cruise control. The SV adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree parking monitor, while the SL adds traffic-sign recognition and navigation-linked ProPILOT Assist.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds the Rock Creek edition, giving you a more rugged option within the lineup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $33,119 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $37,552 CAD average.
• It brings a rugged-looking body style and thoughtful features that make it feel distinctive.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more current used buy, the 2023 is the stronger choice. If your priority is saving money and you still want the Pathfinder’s core space and capability, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path.
