Used 2023 Nissan Frontier for Sale near Ontario

How much does the 2023 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 1.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 137 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.94/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, comfortable interior, modern features, and strong value compared with rivals. The feedback also points to a truck that feels well-liked and easy to recommend for midsize pickup shoppers.

The trade-offs are a sluggish transmission and poor fuel economy, so it is less appealing if refinement or efficiency matters most. For you, that means the Frontier makes the most sense if you want a straightforward, capable pickup with a comfortable cabin and good equipment rather than the most polished drivetrain.

The market shows 34.3% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on over time. That lines up with the expert impression of a well-liked midsize pickup that keeps its formula simple.

The powertrain and standard equipment suggest a durable, familiar setup rather than a complicated one. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is more about living with the Frontier’s rougher edges than worrying about a fundamentally shaky truck.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Frontier?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S is the most stripped-down version, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience features. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are available on the Pro grade and all other grades except the base S, so you should check whether the truck you are considering has the equipment you want.
• Powertrain: Every Canadian Frontier uses a 3.8-litre V6 with 310 hp and 281 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is standard in Canada, and the truck can shift into 4HI while travelling under 110 km/h.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, trailer sway control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear-door alert. Traffic-sign recognition is standard on Pro-4X.
• Infotainment: Most trims use an 8-inch touchscreen, while Pro-4X gets a 9-inch system. Wireless Apple CarPlay is standard on Pro-4X, and Android Auto still requires a wired connection. The 7-inch digital gauge cluster is standard across the lineup.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates most versions at 12.8 L/100 km in the city, 10.2 on the highway, and 11.6 combined. The Pro-4X is rated at 13.3 L/100 km city, 10.5 highway, and 12.0 combined.

Which 2023 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Frontier is offered in 6 trim levels: S, SV Convenience, SV, Pro-4X, Midnight Edition, and SV Premium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the Frontier’s core capability at the lowest price and do not need the extra comfort and tech found higher up the range.
• SV: This is the trim to focus on if you want a balanced mix of equipment and value, especially since the Midnight Edition is built from it and adds a blacked-out appearance package.
• SV Convenience: Choose this if you want a more comfort-focused step up without jumping all the way to the upper trims.
• Midnight Edition: This is for you if appearance matters most, since it blacks out the grille, wheels, mirrors, badging, interior accents, and headliner.
• SV Premium: This is the best-value choice if you want a richer cabin and the available 10-speaker Fender premium sound system.
• Pro-4X: This is the trim to buy if you want the most rugged character, the 9-inch infotainment system, the six-speaker audio setup, unique 17-inch alloy wheels, Lava Red interior accents, and the strongest off-road focus.

Traffic-sign recognition is standard on Pro-4X.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 137 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.55% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $42,163 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $42,163 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,827 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Frontier is holding value reasonably well, but not aggressively appreciating in the used market. If you are a future seller, that means your return will depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well your truck is equipped relative to similar listings.

The current market also shows a meaningful spread between the low and high end of the year-round range, which gives well-kept examples room to stand out. Trucks with desirable equipment and strong presentation should be easier to move than bare-bones examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2023 Nissan Frontier earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash testing, four-star ratings in frontal crash testing, and three-star ratings in rollover testing.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance equipment includes forward-collision warning, trailer sway control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear-door alert. Traffic-sign recognition is standard on Pro-4X.

The main caveat is the lower rollover result, which keeps the overall NHTSA score from reaching five stars. That is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority for your used-truck search.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan added a Midnight Edition and made wireless Apple CarPlay standard on Pro-4X.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $38,481 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $42,163 CAD average.
• It arrives as a redesigned truck with updated styling, an enhanced powertrain, and a comfortable cabin.

The 2023 is the better pick if you want the more current version of this generation with minor updates and strong owner approval. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the smarter value play because it delivers the redesigned Frontier experience for less.
