Is the 2023 Mazda CX-9 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating suggests strong owner satisfaction. The 2023 Mazda CX-9 stands out if you want a three-row SUV that feels more engaging to drive than many rivals, with sportier tuning, a premium-feeling cabin, and stylish presentation. It is especially appealing if you value a polished interior and a more athletic feel behind the wheel more than maximum passenger and cargo space. With 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-9 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Mazda CX-9’s appeal comes from its polished cabin, distinctive styling, and driving character, which can make it feel like a more premium used buy. For long-term ownership, the main risk for used buyers is that its less spacious packaging and less intuitive technology may matter more as the vehicle ages and your needs change.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-9?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 170 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.13% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,808 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $32,821 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,351 CAD.

That price movement suggests the CX-9 has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer market than last year. If you buy near the current average, your resale position will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped. A model with broad appeal and strong demand can still hold value better than the average listing.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $31,242 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $32,821 CAD average.
• It offers a refined, upscale feel with a comfortable ride.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money first, the 2022 is the better value path, especially if you find one in similar condition and with comparable equipment.
