Used 2023 Kia Sportage for Sale nearAjax, ON

How much does the 2023 Kia Sportage cost?

Prices have softened 10.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 641 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Sportage earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its great value, spacious interior, and modern styling, while also appreciating its impressive features for the price. The expert review also points to its stylish design, spaciousness, and impressive technology as core strengths.

The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and a cabin that can feel a bit more ordinary in some materials and touch points than the styling suggests. That matters most if you want stronger acceleration or a more premium driving feel.

If you want a compact SUV that stands out from the usual choices and prioritises style, space, and tech, this Sportage fits that brief well. With 33.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value in the market.

Is the 2023 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly describes the Sportage as a vehicle people feel good about living with, especially because it feels dependable and delivers great value with features that hold up well over time. The review summary also points to a generally trouble-free ownership experience, with the kind of everyday usability that helps a compact SUV stay appealing for the long haul.

The expert review reinforces that impression by describing the Sportage as a feature-rich vehicle with a strong ownership proposition, backed by a 5-year, 100,000-kilometre comprehensive warranty in Canada. That warranty coverage helps reduce early ownership risk for used buyers.

For used shoppers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about whether the Sportage’s modest performance and feature complexity match your expectations over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Sportage?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX starts with cloth seats and front-wheel drive, while higher trims add more upscale cabin materials and more standard equipment. The X-Line Limited stands out with the most premium-feeling feature set, including the most advanced convenience and safety tech.
• Powertrain: The gas Sportage uses a 2.5-litre inline four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on the LX, with all-wheel drive optional there and standard on the other trims.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, lane-departure warning, and a backup camera. X-Line adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit warning, while X-Line Limited adds blind-view monitor, highway driving assist, front and rear parking sensors, projection LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a surround-view camera.
• Infotainment: The LX gets an 8-inch infotainment screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. EX and higher trims use a 12.3-inch touchscreen, while the X-Line Limited pairs that with a panoramic, curved 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless charging is standard above LX.
• Fuel efficiency: The gas Sportage is rated at 9.3 L/100 km city, 7.4 L/100 km highway, and 8.4 L/100 km combined with front-wheel drive, or 10.4 L/100 km city, 8.5 L/100 km highway, and 9.5 L/100 km combined with all-wheel drive.

Which 2023 Kia Sportage trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Sportage is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, X-Line, EX, EX Premium, and X-Line Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the basics with cloth seats, front-wheel drive, and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on the smaller screen. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is the least feature-rich choice.
• X-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the equipment mix that makes the Sportage feel more competitive, including all-wheel drive, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit warning, and the rugged-looking X-Line treatment.
• EX: This trim is the step up if you want the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and more convenience features, including dual-zone full automatic climate control and adaptive cruise control.
• EX Premium: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for the added comfort and tech over EX.
• X-Line Limited: This is the most fully equipped version, with the blind-view monitor, highway driving assist, surround-view camera, parking sensors, and the Harman Kardon audio system. It is the right pick if you want the most advanced safety and convenience package.

The X-Line Limited is the only trim with the full set of Kia’s standout safety features, including blind-view monitor and highway driving assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Sportage?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 641 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.03% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,958 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $26,958 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,963 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sportage has become more accessible for buyers, which can make it easier to move on the used market if you price it competitively. For future sellers, the softer trend means you may need to be realistic on asking price if you want to attract attention quickly.

At the same time, the Sportage’s strong feature content and broad appeal should help support demand, especially among shoppers who value style, space, and technology. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Sportage safe?

The 2023 Kia Sportage has not yet been crash-tested by NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, lane-departure warning, and a backup camera. X-Line adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit warning, while X-Line Limited is the only trim to include blind-view monitor and highway driving assist.

That trim-level gap matters if safety tech is a priority, because the most useful advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for the top trim.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 brings a fully redesigned look, strong technology, and a roomy cabin.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,457 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $26,958 CAD average.
• It offers a familiar design with available turbocharged performance.

The bottom line: If you want the newer redesign, stronger tech, and broader appeal, the 2023 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less and you are comfortable with the older generation, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly route.
