Is the 2023 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2023 Kia Seltos is positioned as a subcompact crossover with a rugged look, a surprisingly premium interior for the price, and generous passenger and cargo space for its size. It also brings refined driving dynamics and a high-quality cabin, which makes it a practical fit if you want a compact SUV that feels more substantial than many rivals.

Its appeal is strongest if you value space, a polished cabin, and a distinctive personality in a crowded segment. With 28.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully and find value.

Is the 2023 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Kia Seltos is described as a well-rounded small crossover with a spacious cabin, easy-to-use technology, and a strong ownership proposition. It also benefits from a comfortable ride and useful everyday practicality, which are the kinds of traits that tend to matter over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the model’s weaker points can affect day-to-day satisfaction if you are sensitive to noise or drivetrain behaviour.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 598 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.32% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,700 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $23,718 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,051 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year's average. The Seltos's practical packaging and distinctive appeal should help it remain relevant with shoppers looking for a compact SUV that feels a bit more upscale.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,292 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,718 CAD average.
• It offers a practical, user-friendly package with a strong ownership proposition.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $26,238 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $23,718 CAD average.
• It adds fresh styling and updated technology.

The bottom line:

The 2023 Kia Seltos is the balanced choice if you want a well-equipped compact SUV with strong value and broad appeal. If price is your top priority, the 2022 is the better path; if you want the newer refresh and can spend more, the 2024 is worth a look.
