Is the 2023 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction with this model year. The 2023 Kia Seltos is positioned as a subcompact crossover that feels larger than its footprint suggests, with a practical cabin, a more rugged personality, and a surprisingly premium interior for the price. It also offers generous passenger and cargo space for a compact vehicle, plus available features such as a larger infotainment screen, wireless smartphone charging, and heated and ventilated front seats on higher trims. With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Kia Seltos is described as having a high-quality cabin and refined driving dynamics, but it also comes with some trade-offs, including a noisy cabin, an underpowered base engine, and a clunky dual-clutch transmission. Reliability is especially worth checking on earlier model years, particularly around the 2.0-litre engine and IVT transmission. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable, but only if you verify maintenance history and confirm any recall work has been completed.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 603 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,567 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $23,567 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,869 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Seltos easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you own one, the current pricing trend means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still attract attention, especially while demand remains supported by the model's practical packaging.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,206 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,567 CAD average.
• It offers practical space, easy-to-use tech, and strong value.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $26,245 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $23,567 CAD average.
• It adds fresher styling and updated technology.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want a well-equipped Seltos with strong owner satisfaction and a softer market price. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the better value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer updates and can justify the higher cost.
