The owner feedback also points to a smooth ride and a comfortable, practical cabin, which are encouraging signs for everyday dependability. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but a careful inspection is still wise.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 176 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.24% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,503 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz's resale value?

The current average of $32,703 CAD sits slightly below last year's $36,843 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Santa Cruz more attractive to used buyers today but may temper near-term resale gains for current owners. If you buy at the right price, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still help support future value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,393 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $32,703 CAD average.
• It introduced Hyundai’s compact, unibody pickup formula.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $35,941 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $32,703 CAD average.
• It adds new touches while keeping the same practical, quirky formula.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want a well-liked Santa Cruz at a softer price than last year. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want to pay more for the newer model-year update.
