Used 2023 Honda HR-V for Sale nearLongueuil, QC

How much does the 2023 Honda HR-V cost?

Prices have softened 8.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 303 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 Honda HR-V a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Honda HR-V earns a 4.4/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating, which points to a strong overall reception. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, generous equipment, and strong value, and they also describe it as packed with features for the price. The HR-V’s use-case is straightforward: it is aimed at you if you want a small SUV with broad appeal, a modern redesign, and a more substantial feel than the previous version.

The main trade-offs are that it does not offer a hybrid option and its performance is fairly pedestrian. Even so, the top EX-L trim is presented as feeling more expensive than it is, and the model’s standard safety suite adds a lot of everyday appeal. With 25.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Honda HR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, with drivers highlighting its smooth ride and strong value. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it for regular commuting and family duty, especially if you prioritise comfort and equipment over outright speed.

Honda’s powertrain coverage and the model’s generally positive ownership reputation support confidence for used buyers. The main long-term ownership risk is that some drivers report slow pickup and less-than-ideal fuel economy, so you should make sure the example you choose fits your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda HR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, Sport, and EX-L trims differ most clearly in comfort and convenience equipment. The base trim gets heated front seats and heated side mirrors, while Sport adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, dual-zone climate control, a power moonroof, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and an auto up/down front passenger window. EX-L adds perforated leather seats with additional shoulder support and a more premium cabin feel.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. Drive modes include Normal, Snow, ECON, and Sport, and AWD is standard on the top two trims.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes adaptive cruise control, collision-mitigation braking, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, road-departure mitigation, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot information system, and rear cross-traffic alert. EX-L also gets front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and a 7-inch colour touchscreen. LX and Sport use wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while EX-L adds wireless versions, a 9-inch display, Qi-compatible wireless charging, Wi-Fi capability, SiriusXM, and HD Radio.
• Fuel efficiency: The HR-V is rated at 9.1 L/100 km city, 7.4 L/100 km highway, and 8.3 L/100 km combined in FWD form, or 9.4 L/100 km city, 7.8 L/100 km highway, and 8.7 L/100 km combined with AWD.

Which 2023 Honda HR-V trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda HR-V is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and EX-L.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gives you the redesigned HR-V, standard Honda Sensing, heated front seats, heated side mirrors, and the core infotainment setup. If you want the lowest-cost way into the new generation, this is the trim to start with.
• Sport: This is the best-value upgrade if you want more everyday comfort and a more polished feel without jumping all the way to the top trim. The added leather-wrapped controls, dual-zone climate control, power moonroof, and styling changes make it feel more complete.
• EX-L: This is the trim to choose if you want the most premium-feeling cabin and the most tech. Wireless smartphone integration, the larger 9-inch display, wireless charging, and the leather seating upgrade make it the most upscale version.

Honda Sensing is standard across the range, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 303 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,651 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $27,653 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,104 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has moved into a more buyer-friendly position, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if they price competitively. If you buy at the right number now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

The HR-V’s broad appeal, standard safety equipment, and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Honda HR-V safe?

The 2023 Honda HR-V receives a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim, and it includes adaptive cruise control, collision-mitigation braking, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, road-departure mitigation, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, automatic high-beams, blind-spot information system, and rear cross-traffic alert. EX-L adds front and rear parking sensors.

That standard safety coverage is a major strength, especially because even the least expensive version gets the full suite. The main caveat is that the model’s safety story is strongest on equipment and expert evaluation rather than on a full NHTSA rating set.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model brings a full redesign, standard Honda Sensing across the range, and a more modern cabin and feature set.

The bottom line: If you want the newest-feeling HR-V with the strongest standard safety package and a more refined design, the 2023 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 gives you the most complete version of this generation’s appeal.

How does the 2023 Honda HR-V compare to the 2023 Mazda CX-30?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2023 Honda HR-V:

• Pros: Standard advanced safety features, Fun to drive, Top trim feels more expensive than it is.
• Cons: No hybrid option, Fairly pedestrian performance.

2023 Mazda CX-30:

• Pros: Fun to drive, Premium interior materials, Great safety ratings.
• Cons: Cramped back seat, Not much cargo space, Flawed infotainment system.

Our experts score the 2023 Honda HR-V 8.2/10 and the 2023 Mazda CX-30 6.7/10. The HR-V is the better pick if you want standard safety equipment, a more practical everyday package, and a top trim that feels upscale for the money. The CX-30 has the stronger engine on paper and a more premium interior, but its tighter rear seat and cargo area make it less versatile for many shoppers.
