CarGurus Analysis: 2023 GMC Yukon
Summary
With 152 currently listed for sale and an average price of $72,701 CAD, 29.6% of 2023 GMC Yukon listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 GMC Yukon 3.4 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2023 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that blends premium presentation with serious utility. In this generation, it offers a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a push-button gear system on the dash, nine camera views, and an eight-inch digital gauge cluster, while its independent rear multilink suspension with coil springs helps create a lower floor and more cargo and passenger space. It also keeps the Yukon’s traditional V8 character alive, alongside a 277-horsepower 3.0-litre inline-six turbocharged diesel engine option and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
What makes the 2023 model especially appealing is how much equipment it can bring to the table without losing its family-hauling and towing focus. The off-road-focused Yukon AT4 trim adds GMC’s Active Response 4WD system, a front skid plate, an approach angle of nearly 32 degrees, and all-terrain tyres, while available four-corner air ride adaptive suspension and the Prograde Trailering system raise towing capacity to 3,700 kilograms. The 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate also adds a Bose 18-speaker sound system, full-grain leather seats, and Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance tech.
There are trade-offs, though. The Yukon’s safety technology is not fully standard across the range, and the model’s reliability has not been especially strong so far this generation. It also sits at a premium price point on the used market, which means buyers are paying for its space, features, and upscale feel as much as for its capability.

The 2023 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that blends premium presentation with serious utility. Owners describe it as smooth and well finished, and some specifically appreciate that it feels fuel efficient for its size, but the same feedback also points to transmission issues and engine recalls. That mix suggests you should shop carefully and prioritise a thorough inspection and service-history review, because long-term ownership risk is a real consideration for used buyers.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 GMC Yukon?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings closely.
- Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 153 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.73% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $71,803 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 GMC Yukon's resale value?
The current average of $72,845 CAD sits slightly below last year's $76,465 CAD.
That price movement suggests the Yukon has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. If demand stays steady, a well-kept example should still hold appeal because it offers space, premium features, and towing capability. For future resale, condition and maintenance history will matter a lot, especially given the model's premium positioning and mixed reliability perception.
Should I buy a 2023 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.73% compared with last year.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $63,387 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $72,845 CAD average.
- It offers a more affordable, modern full-size SUV package.
The bottom line:
Choose the 2023 if you want the newer used-market option and are comfortable paying more for its updated packaging and premium feel. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the better value path, especially if you want to keep your budget lower while still getting a large, upscale SUV.
