How much does the 2023 Dodge Challenger cost?

Prices have softened 19.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 130 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Dodge Challenger earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, fun driving experience, and modern tech features. They also highlight the ample legroom and trunk space, which helps the Challenger work better as an everyday car than its muscle-car image might suggest.

The trade-offs are familiar ones for this model: it is less about efficiency and more about attitude, and the cabin tech is not especially modern by current standards. Even so, its final-year, high-power personality makes it a strong fit if you want a dramatic coupe with real presence.

With 26.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still a meaningful share of attractive inventory to consider.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter to enthusiasts: strong performance, enjoyable day-to-day use, and a sense that it delivers what buyers expect from a Challenger. The expert assessment also describes it as holding up remarkably well considering its age, which supports the idea that it can be a solid long-term ownership choice when maintained properly.

The main ownership risk for used buyers is that this is a high-output muscle car, so condition and maintenance history matter more than they would on a more ordinary coupe.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Dodge Challenger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Black Ghost adds exclusive retro styling, premium Laguna semi-aniline leather upholstery, simulated suede trim, genuine carbon fibre accents, a navigation system, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system. It is the most distinctive choice if you want the rarest farewell-edition look and feel.
• Powertrain: The Black Ghost uses a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 with 807 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is built for straight-line force rather than restraint.
• Safety package: The Black Ghost includes a low-resolution reversing camera, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are unavailable.
• Infotainment: You get an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming audio, and a one-year SiriusXM trial. Black Ghost models also add navigation and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel consumption is as high as 15.4 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test loop returned 15 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Dodge Challenger trim should I buy?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger is offered in 1 trim level: Black Ghost.

Here's the short version:

The Black Ghost is the one to buy if you want the most exclusive final-year Challenger and you value the special-edition styling, upgraded interior materials, and added audio and navigation equipment. It is also the trim that best captures the model’s farewell-run character, with rare production and the most dramatic presentation.

The safety package is limited, though, so you should be comfortable with a car that leans heavily on driver attention rather than advanced assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Dodge Challenger?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers: there is inventory to choose from, but the best examples still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 130 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $56,486 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger safe?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger earns favourable ratings only in two outdated frontal- and side-impact tests from IIHS.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety equipment is limited: the Black Ghost includes a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are not available, so you are relying more on your own judgement than on driver-assistance tech.

That limited safety net is the main caution for used buyers, especially if you plan to drive the car regularly in traffic or bad weather.

Should I buy a 2023 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It is the final-year Challenger, with special-edition “Last Call” models and the rare Black Ghost limited to 300 units.

The bottom line: If you want the most memorable version of the Challenger formula, the 2023 model is the one to target because it combines final-year significance with strong owner satisfaction and softer pricing than a year ago. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, you may want to shop carefully and focus on the best-priced examples rather than chasing rarity.
