Used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearKitchener, ON

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 13.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 545 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from owners and 6.5/10 from our experts. The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is a sensible compact crossover for you if you want comfort, value, and straightforward usability rather than excitement. It offers a great ride, easy-to-use technology, and strong value for money, while the updated engine output and braking system help it feel a bit more polished than before.

The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Its trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission is irritating, and road noise is a drawback. Even so, if you prioritise an uncomplicated SUV with practical day-to-day manners, it fits that brief well.

33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is presented as a practical, easy-to-live-with compact crossover, and its straightforward layout supports that impression. Its updated braking system and well-sorted suspension also point to a vehicle that should feel composed in regular use. The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine is the sole powertrain, and while it is not especially quick, it is described as adequate for city driving and highway-speed travel.

Chevrolet’s simpler approach to the drivetrain and cabin controls may appeal if you want fewer complications in daily ownership. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which is a nice ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Equinox’s ageing design and less refined powertrain may feel less satisfying over time than newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS, LT, RS, and Premier trims differ in equipment and polish. Heated front seats are standard on all trims, but the heated steering wheel is not available on the base LS and becomes standard on Premier. The top trims also bring a more upscale feel, while the base trim is the most basic.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque. It is fine around town, but it is not especially quick, and the six-speed automatic can contribute to the powertrain’s noise.
• Safety package: Chevrolet Safety Assist includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.
• Infotainment: The LS, LT, and RS use a 7-inch touchscreen, while Premier gets an 8-inch unit. All trims get wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus Bluetooth and a Wi-Fi hotspot with an OnStar subscription. The system is simple and easy to use, though not especially flashy.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD models should return 9.9 L/100 km in the city, 7.9 on the highway, and 9.0 combined. FWD models are rated at 8.9 city, 7.7 highway, and 8.4 combined.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Equinox experience at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the model and are comfortable with the most basic equipment.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful everyday convenience without pushing you to the top of the range. It also opens the door to the heated steering wheel, which the LS does not get.
• RS: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and a slightly more upscale feel without going all the way to Premier. It sits above the LT and adds a sportier appearance.
• Premier: This is the most fully equipped version, with the larger 8-inch touchscreen, standard heated steering wheel, and the most premium cabin presentation. It is the right pick if you want the most comfort and convenience features.

Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 545 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $24,914 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $24,999 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,780 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Equinox is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means you may need to be realistic about pricing if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

The model’s value proposition still helps support demand, especially because it is practical and easy to use. If market conditions stay similar, well-kept examples should remain appealing to shoppers who want a straightforward compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, but it scored a Poor rating in the IIHS moderate overlap front crash test and a Marginal score in the side-impact crash test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet Safety Assist is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on every trim but Premier.

The main caveat is that the IIHS results are mixed, so you should weigh the standard driver-assistance suite against those weaker crash-test outcomes.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Chevy’s compact crossover enters 2023 with a little extra power, a more sophisticated braking system, and three new paint colours.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,594 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $24,999 CAD average.
• It adds revised styling, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a new RS trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2023 is the stronger pick because it combines softer pricing with updated powertrain and braking changes. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is still a sensible alternative, especially if you value its updated styling and convenience features.
