Since BMW stopped making driving machines for everyday budgets, Audi is the best you can get. The A5 has all of the goodness of the A4 with a bit nicer look and the added utility of a hatchback.

While it obviously doesnt pack quite the punch of the S5, this car still has plenty of get up and go. Creature comforts, stereo, etc are fantastic! My son is just shy of 62 and I can still comfortably sit in the back seat with him driving.

How much does the 2023 Audi A5 Sportback cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $37,192 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $37,127 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $44,525 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $44,496 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −16.42% |
Prices have softened 16.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 65 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for you to compare.
Is the 2023 Audi A5 Sportback a good car?
Yes — owners give it 4.6/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The review summary highlights performance, stylish design, comfort, the stereo system, and hatchback utility as recurring strengths. Good and great deals make up 32.3% of listings, so you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2023 Audi A5 Sportback reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with owners describing it as comfortable and enjoyable over time. For used buyers, that kind of feedback suggests lower day-to-day ownership risk if the vehicle has been maintained properly.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Audi A5 Sportback?
This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 65 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.42% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $37,127 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Audi A5 Sportback's resale value?
The current average of $37,192 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,496 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more competition if values continue to ease. If you buy near the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation exposure. Strong demand for well-liked trims and clean examples can still help support your exit price later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2023 Audi A5 Sportback or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.42% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: You should focus on the 2023 if you want a well-liked model year with solid owner feedback and a market that has moved in your favour. If your priority is stretching your budget further, it can also make sense to compare nearby years and target the best-priced example rather than the newest one.
