Used 2023 Acura MDX for Sale nearWoodbridge, ON

How much does the 2023 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 11.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 185 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Acura MDX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The MDX stands out as Acura’s midsize three-row crossover SUV, and its appeal starts with a stylish design and a satisfying driving character. It also comes with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and has great safety ratings, which help give it a more polished and confidence-inspiring feel than many family-focused SUVs.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and a cramped third-row seat limit its appeal if you need maximum efficiency or full-size family space. Its ergonomic design is also not especially strong, so you should expect some usability compromises.

With 37.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The MDX is presented as a polished luxury SUV with modern technologies and a satisfying driving character, which supports the case for solid day-to-day ownership. Its expert evaluation also points to a vehicle that feels more refined than many family-focused SUVs.

The performance side is less reassuring for long-term enjoyment if you value efficiency, because the MDX’s fuel appetite is a recurring theme. For used buyers, that means ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about living with higher running costs and some tech-related frustrations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard MDX comes in a base level of specification with available Tech, A-Spec, and Platinum Elite packages, while the MDX Type S is offered in standard spec or with an Ultra package. The base and Tech packages are described as being low in inventory, so you should check carefully for feature gaps before assuming a lower trim will have the equipment you want.
• Powertrain: The standard MDX uses a 3.5-litre V6, while the Type S upgrades to a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. The Type S adds performance hardware, but it also weighs more and is described as less cohesive to drive.
• Safety package: The MDX includes collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following, Traffic Jam Assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Certain trim packages add front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: Acura’s Digital Precision Cockpit uses a configurable 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the MDX also features Amazon Alexa Built-In, SiriusXM satellite radio, a native navigation system, and AcuraLink connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The Type S averaged 13.9 litres per 100 kilometres in testing, with 13.8 L/100 km in city driving and 16.7 L/100 km in more spirited mountain driving. The fuel economy is a major drawback if you care about running costs.

Which 2023 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Acura MDX is offered in 6 trim levels: base, Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite, Type S, Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, but the available information suggests you should check carefully for equipment gaps before settling here.
• Tech: A step up from base, but it is also described as being low in inventory, so availability may be limited.
• A-Spec: This is the best-value choice if you want the sporty look without the Type S’s compromises; it is the trim the review team recommends for most buyers.
• Platinum Elite: Choose this if you want more luxury equipment, including the head-up display mentioned in the tech content.
• Type S: This is the performance-focused version with the turbocharged V6, SH-AWD, adaptive air suspension, and upgraded brakes, but it is less cohesive than its hardware suggests.
• Ultra: This is the top-spec Type S version with the most upscale equipment, including quilted leather, open-pore wood, and the Sport Appearance package.

Certain trim packages add front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should be able to shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 185 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,586 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $47,586 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,604 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favour, which can make the MDX easier to purchase now but may also temper what you can expect later as a seller. If prices continue to soften, resale values could remain under pressure in the near term.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX safe?

The 2023 Acura MDX earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA. It also earns four-star protection ratings for the driver and front passenger in the frontal-impact test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The MDX’s safety suite includes collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following capability, and Traffic Jam Assist. Every Canadian model also includes rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Certain trim packages add front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system. One caveat is that the driver-assistance system can misread road signs or react too aggressively in some situations.

Should I buy a 2023 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 combines stylish design, SH-AWD, and strong safety ratings in a polished package.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $43,279 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $47,586 CAD average.
• It brings a fresher redesign with a new platform and a more assertive attitude.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,868 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $47,586 CAD average.
• It adds a new Type S Ultra trim and broader well-rounded appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price movement, satisfaction, and current-market availability, the 2023 is the sensible target. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the value play; if you want the newer trim structure and can spend more, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
