Used 2023 Acura MDX for Sale nearVictoria, BC

How much does the 2023 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 11.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 169 listings available, which suggests you have a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Acura MDX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

It stands out as a midsize three-row crossover SUV with a stylish design and a satisfying driving character, and it brings modern technologies plus strong safety ratings to the table. At the same time, it is a mid-pack contender rather than a class leader, so you should expect a balanced premium family SUV rather than a segment benchmark.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy and a cramped third row, along with some ergonomic frustrations in the cabin. If you want a premium-feeling three-row SUV with polished styling and capable all-wheel drive, it fits that brief well; if maximum space or efficiency matter most, you may want to keep shopping.

32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to find a competitive example.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Acura MDX is presented as a modern, well-equipped luxury SUV with strong safety credentials and a polished overall package. Its standard Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and broad set of driver-assistance features support confidence in day-to-day use, while the expert assessment also points to a generally satisfying driving character.

The performance side is less reassuring for long-term ownership if you care about efficiency, since the Type S version is described as having dismal fuel economy. For used buyers, the bigger ownership risk is not outright durability so much as living with the model’s fuel costs and some frustrating tech and ergonomic quirks over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard MDX comes in base, Tech, A-Spec, and Platinum Elite packages, while the MDX Type S is offered in standard spec or with an Ultra package. The base and Tech packages are described as low in inventory, so feature content can vary a lot by trim.
• Powertrain: The Type S uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic and standard Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. The standard MDX uses a 3.5-litre V6, and the Type S adds performance hardware but also weighs more.
• Safety package: The MDX includes collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following, Traffic Jam Assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Certain trim packages add front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: Acura’s Digital Precision Cockpit uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. You get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa Built-In, SiriusXM, navigation, AcuraLink connected services, and available Wi-Fi hotspot capability, but the screen is not touch-sensitive and uses a True Touchpad Interface instead.
• Fuel efficiency: The Type S averaged 13.9 L/100 km in testing and was rated at 12.4 L/100 km combined by Natural Resources Canada. In city driving, it returned 13.8 L/100 km, and in more enthusiastic driving the average rose to 16.7 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Acura MDX is offered in 6 trim levels: base, Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite, Type S, Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, but the available information suggests it is not the easiest trim to find and may leave you wanting more equipment than the higher packages provide.
• Tech: This adds equipment over the base model and is part of the standard MDX lineup, but it is also described as low in inventory.
• A-Spec: This is the best-value choice if you want the standard MDX with a sportier look and a more predictable driving character.
• Platinum Elite: This trim adds more luxury and technology content, including the head-up display mentioned in the tech details.
• Type S: Choose this if you want the most performance-focused MDX, with the turbocharged V6, adaptive air suspension, and exclusive braking and chassis hardware.
• Ultra: This is the top Type S package, adding the most upscale equipment and the highest level of performance-oriented presentation.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but some trim packages add parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 169 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $48,064 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $48,064 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,143 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make resale values softer in the near term. If you buy now, you may face more depreciation pressure than you would have a year ago, especially if you choose a higher-priced trim.

On the other hand, the MDX’s strong safety reputation and premium positioning should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want a three-row luxury SUV with broad capability. Well-equipped examples in desirable trims are likely to hold attention better than stripped or less distinctive versions.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX safe?

The 2023 Acura MDX earns Top Safety Pick+ recognition from the IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, though it also earns four-star protection ratings for the driver and front passenger in the frontal-impact test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The MDX’s standard safety suite includes collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following, Traffic Jam Assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Certain trim packages add front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

There is a caveat to keep in mind: the system can issue false lane-departure alerts and even misread an overhead sign as an obstacle, which is worth considering if you want the most polished driver-assistance experience.

Should I buy a 2023 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong safety ratings with a stylish, premium-feeling three-row layout.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $41,937 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $48,064 CAD average.
• It brings a fresh redesign with a more assertive attitude and broad improvements.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $52,049 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $48,064 CAD average.
• It adds a new Type S Ultra trim level and a higher level of performance.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, safety, and premium appeal, the 2023 is the sensible default. If you are price-sensitive, the 2022 is the value play; if you want the newest performance-focused trim and can spend more, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
