Used 2023 Acura MDX for Sale nearOshawa, ON

How much does the 2023 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 11.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 188 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Acura MDX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The MDX stands out as Acura’s midsize three-row crossover SUV, and its appeal starts with a stylish design and a satisfying driving character. It also comes with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and has great safety ratings, which help give it a more polished and confidence-inspiring feel than many family-focused SUVs.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and a cramped third row limit its appeal if you want maximum efficiency or full-size family space. Its ergonomic design is also not especially strong, so you should expect some usability compromises.

The market shows 34.6% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The MDX’s appeal starts with its polished design and confidence-inspiring road manners, and the expert review also points to strong safety ratings. Its standard all-wheel-drive setup and premium positioning suggest a vehicle built to feel substantial over time.

The performance notes also show that the MDX can be satisfying to drive, but the fuel economy is a weak point. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that efficiency and day-to-day usability may not match the vehicle’s premium image.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base setup gets the core MDX look and standard safety equipment, while higher packages add more luxury and convenience. If you want the best balance of equipment and value, the A-Spec package is the one to focus on.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.5-litre V6 is paired with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, and the Type S adds a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with more power but much worse fuel economy.
• Safety package: Acura’s driver-assistance suite includes collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following, and Traffic Jam Assist. Every Canadian MDX also gets rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, while some packages add parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment display, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is not touch-sensitive, and the True Touchpad Interface can take some getting used to.
• Fuel efficiency: The Type S averaged 13.9 L/100 km in mixed driving and 13.8 L/100 km in city driving during testing, with an official combined rating of 12.4 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Acura MDX is offered in 6 trim levels: base, Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite, Type S, Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, but the available information suggests some of the more desirable equipment is pushed into higher packages. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting point and plan to keep expectations modest.
• Tech: This adds more equipment than the base model and is part of the standard MDX lineup, but the review notes that base and Tech inventory can be limited. It suits you if you want a better-equipped MDX without moving too far up the range.
• A-Spec: This is the best-value choice if you want a sporty-looking MDX that still drives more predictably than the Type S. The review specifically recommends sticking with the standard MDX with the A-Spec package if you want the most satisfying balance.
• Platinum Elite: This trim adds more luxury and convenience, including the head-up display mentioned in the tech coverage. It suits you if you want a more upscale MDX without stepping into the Type S.
• Type S: This is the performance-focused version with the turbocharged V6, adaptive air suspension, and exclusive braking hardware. It brings more power and hardware, but the review says the result is less cohesive than you might expect.
• Ultra: This package sits at the top of the range and adds the most premium cabin treatment and equipment. It is for you if you want the most lavish MDX and are willing to pay for it.

Certain trim packages add front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 188 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.12% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,691 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $47,692 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,661 CAD.

That price movement suggests the MDX has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help keep demand steady in the near term. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of avoiding the steepest part of the depreciation curve.

For a future seller, the key question is whether the market continues to value the MDX’s premium image and strong safety reputation. If demand stays healthy, a well-kept example should remain easier to move than a less desirable three-row SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Acura MDX safe?

The 2023 Acura MDX earns a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it earned four-star protection ratings for the driver and front passenger in the frontal-impact test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The MDX’s safety suite includes collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following, and Traffic Jam Assist. Every Canadian MDX also includes rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Some packages add front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system. The review also notes a false collision warning during testing, so you should pay attention to how the driver-assistance systems behave on your test drive.

Should I buy a 2023 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines stylish design, Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, and great safety ratings.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $42,819 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $47,692 CAD average.
• It brings a fresher redesign and a more assertive attitude.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,864 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $47,692 CAD average.
• It adds a broader, more refined package with a new Type S Ultra trim.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price movement, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the primary year to target. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer trim structure and are willing to pay more.
